  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

He turns 31 next week. I couldn’t imagine Howie trying that again.

Watched some clips of Pollard at the end of last season. He still didn't have the same juice, but he got yards based on volume. YPC in last 4 games: 3.7, 4.1, 3.1, 3.2.

Generally speaking, we should avoid signing any Cowboys. The exceptions for me are players who played with other teams too like Dante Fowler, Jayron Kearse, etc.

No way I part with Reddick for just a 3rd.  He’s older, but not ancient.  Low 1st/ high 2nd value in return or keep him

Look at what DEs went for at the deadline.  I don't think teams give that up and a big contract for a declining player at 29. I'd do it for the trade up mentioned was the point because you'd be getting a lot more value than a 3rd, but I doubt Houston would go for it.

"Declining" is too strong

A big part of his game is making guys miss. His forced miss tackles were much better later in the year. The YPC can be misleading based on OL play.

Solak wanted him because he said he heard interviews where Pollard said he was not himself the whole year because of injuries and thinks he still has a lot of juice left that he’ll regain. I don’t want him though.

One thing about Swift I noticed looking at different websites is they say he had a terrible expected yards after carry. I’m not totally sold on that metric as meaningful, but it’s there nonetheless. I still want Swift back and think he was underutilized.

Two issues with Swift: He doesn’t create many yards after contact. We don’t use him in the receiving game, which is probably the best part of his game.

I said for weeks I'd rather trade Sweat than Reddick. I think this means Reddick could be re-signed.

Cleaning house?

Ruthless Howie = best Howie.

What do you think the plan is here? Another 3-4 OLB opposite Reddick with more traditional 3-4 looks?

Or just not looking to continue paying sweat, and replace him with another DE?

If they can get a first for Sweat or a 2nd+ for him and then sign Chase Young to a one or two year prove-it deal, that would be awesome.

I've believed for a while they are only shopping Reddick because they don't want to pay both him and Sweat in a year. Maybe they realized Sweat will get more in return.

I’d rather have Reddick

Andrew Van Ginkel.

how much cap can we gain with a sweat trade, and a Reddick extension?

so replacing the DE spot with another 3-4 OLB.

$14M in dead cap if we trade him pre June 1. But his contract is dirt cheap for the acquiring team.

See above.

Someone reported a Reddick extension gives 11m more in cap space.

I wonder if Bryce Huff can drop in coverage. I’d prefer him to Van Ginkel.

Whoever gets traded they're getting 17 sacks next year just because. lol
