It sounds like we have Huff and Danielle Hunter coming in.

I don't think Hunter, he's gonna be 30.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Boy, if they could get a 1st for Sweat, having two 1sts and two 2nds go a long way to rebuilding. I'd also have to think one of the two 2nds gets traded. They have 50 and 53. Generally, they don't use picks when they are that close. Maybe one can be used to trade up in the 1st or they could move down and pick up a lower 2nd and extra 3rd.

They could be in a position to get and upgraded version of Sweat in Jared Verse AND a CB.

Shoot, they could come away with DE, CB, WR and S in the 1st two rounds.

I still don't think they'll trade Reddick, I don't think the market for him is going to make it worth it. His market was quiet when he was 2 years younger, I don't know why teams would not only trade valuable picks for him, but pay him more money now.

But if they did end up trading both, I don't think it would be two free agent signings. I think it would be Huff + a trade for Burns or something. Or Huff plus using their first rounder on pass rusher.

Knee is used as a cop out for Sweat. His knee isn't what causes him to overrun every damn play

Amazingly, they could free up a couple million by extending Jake.

Like $2M. But you probably have to make him the most expensive kicker in the league doing that. There’s a few guys that can open up a million or two but nothing to make you excited besides Reddick

If he has a bad agent. $ right now is always > $ eventually

I don’t think it’s an absolutist statement.

Josh Allen only took a 16m$ signing bonus in exchange for getting the first 3 years of his deal fully guaranteed to help with the Bills’ 2021 cap. His total guarantees and amount guaranteed at signing were new standards, but because of the signing bonus and what he received up front his agent is bad? Does Deshaun Watson really care what bracket his signing bonus is in when he’ll get all the money no matter what?

Huff and Greenard then.

If you move Sweat, it makes sense to extend Reddick and free up around 10mm. Net gain of 5mm, and then you sign an edge rusher and give more snaps to Nolan.

Reddick, Smith, FA, BG. That works for 4 edge rushers in a rotation. Maybe the draft yields a 5th. At DT/DE, you have Carter, Davis, Williams, Tui and Ojomo. Probably need to add someone there.

I wonder if Fange wants his Van Ginkel. Luvu isn't a bad option either.

I am a big fan of Mekhi Wingo in the mid rounds, from LSU. He can play DT or DE. Like a Milton WIlliams type. Exceptionally quick. Provides depth at both positions.

This is apples and oranges here. QB’s getting mega $250M+ deals changes things than a pass rusher getting 3 year $45M.

1 year, $4 million. That’s good value. BG is still a solid situational pass rusher.

Wrecked it. Damn near killed it.

that is excellent.

Up to 4 million so it's probably less.

Seems there will be consequences for the collapse. Good.

Graham is now the longest tenured Eagle ever

It seems Sweat's undisciplined play is getting him kicked off the squad.

Eh, I think there's also something to be said about overcorrecting. Can't put too much weight into 2023. The back 7 is where the defense clearly needs the most help. The Eagles are just butt hurt they spend so much on the DL and it didn't dominate, but it doesn't work that way sometimes. And in big games, your pass rush is going to be diminished facing top tier QBs and offenses that get the ball out quick anyway.

Seems we are going to see radical changes on defense. We all criticized Howie for trying to run it back in 2019 and 2020 with the Super Bowl core. Looks like he has learned from his mistake and is ready to tear it down (at least on defense).

I would rather trade Sweat than Reddick. I think we saw last year that Sweat can’t play a high number of snaps on his knee - he disappeared down the stretch. He’s going to want big money, and we shouldn’t give it to him after this year. Trade him now and get a quality pick. Extend Reddick, sign Huff or someone else, and then focus on the back 7.

Sweat was absolutely horrid against the run last year.  The guy has no ability or desire to contain the edge.

Sweat was perhaps the most selfish player on the Eagles defense. Bradberry was bad, but he tried. Sweat would *constantly* lose contain. When you're not rushing the passer in the 2nd half, and you're letting the QB loose, you're actively hurting the team. That was obvious on tape.

Bringing BG back would seem to contradict that

I mentioned the Illinois pro day yesterday to keep an eye out for my guy Casey Washington. You can find him just about at the bottom of the big list of drafttek WR rankings. But hes pretty darn good. And he tested exactly how I thought. He should move up rankings. Major sleeper. Wouldnt be upset with him as a #3
