BG unfortunately didn't do much last year but maybe he's the veteran glue to teach the young guys discipline since it sounds like Cox is moving on.  Regardless, changes coming on the DL which hopefully means more pressure on the QB.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Still to be seen if Jeudy can reach his potential but that's some damn good roster management. The Eagles traded more for Robert Quinn and Kevin Byard and both were here for a combined 16 games. Hell, the Eagles traded more for Genard Avery.

Just playing the trade game here. The Broncos WR is in dire need of a boost. If Denver offered Surtain for AJ Brown straight up. Do you do it?

I wouldn't.

Amari Cooper and Jerry Juedy for 2 5ths adm 1.5 6ths. STOLEN

No, the team will only go as far as Hurts takes him, you can't take away players that help him succeed.

No.

Doubt the Broncos are interested in trading for veterans anyways.  They want draft picks.  What the Juedy trade tells me is that the Broncos are shedding contracts and in complete rebuild mode.  Surtain could be had for less than we think.

Jeudy is making 13M this year. That's a lot for the type of WR he's been.

Wow that Browns trade is INSANE value.

Jerry Jeudy can't play bro and he makes a lot of money. Number 3 WR at best.

I don't think I would either but it's not an obvious no. Surtain is just about to turn 24 while AJ brown turns 27 before this season. Assuming the trade comes with an extension, Surtain would be here on a massive contract but you'd have two fantastic CB for Ringo to continue to learn under and then next year you have a 25 year old All-Pro in Surtain as CB1 and 22 year old Ringo as CB2.

Trading AJ Brown this year doesn't make much sense though. They have nothing in the pipeline at WR so they are putting a ton of pressure on Howie to fill his shoes.

By all accounts, for a where he was drafted, he has been a bust.  Lacks concentration and inconsistent catching the ball.

Denver wants picks, not expensive contracts.

I doubt it. Rebuild doesn’t mean trade anyone with any value. They would be dumb to not extend and build around Surtain.

If they'd want anyone they'd want Smith, same draft as Surtain. Still no

Well it is the Broncos...

If the rumors are true that if Daniels isn’t there at 3 that New England is willing to move back that it wouldn’t surprise me if Denver tries to move up to #3 to get one of the quarterbacks that’s there (assuming they love Maye). I have a feeling if that goes down that  surtain might be part of that trade to move up.

Seriously…they are reeling from the Wilson debacle

The vastly over rated type?

It is notable that the Jets have no real interest in keeping Huff. A young pass rusher in his mid 20's. They've viewed him as a situational edge.

To be fair, Arizona and then Carolina showed no interest in keeping Reddick.

Neither Sweat or Reddick have shown they can drop into coverage which if the 3-4 is your base defense, makes them pass rush specialists, since teams know they're facing a 5 man front with limited ability to change looks.

They may want to go with a combination of cheaper "true" 3-4 OLBs and 4-3 DE pass rush specialists on obvious passing downs.

As we saw down the stretch, Sweat and Reddick are both undersized DEs who fit certain roles (Elephant, etc.) but aren't 4-3 three down starters or 3-4 OLBs,

But neither have Lewis and Okwara. And 35 year old BG?   Smith?   Patrick Johnson?  Tarron Jackson?  Those are the Eagles DE/OLBs including the ones they have signed so far this offseason.  Now do have concerns about OLBs/SAMs that can’t cover.  Frankly, I think Howie takes calls about the majority of players and with both Sweat and Reddick on the high end of their deals and the last year, there could be some negotiation aspects to this information. ‘Tis the misinformation season.

If I thought we could replace Brown with a very good #2 WR I think I would make the trade. I just don't have that confidence.

Wouldn't you then be creating a huge need on offense?
