  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I declared Eagles true SB57 champs many months back.

Do the young Georgia guys become the unquestioned starters at DT now, or do the Eagles bring in some veteran help on a DT rotation?

I’d bring in a DT I don’t trust it. I trust Carter but not Davis

Think they need a vet at DT. Carter is a stud, but Davis has largely been a  run stuffing JAG. The others are solid depth, but eh.

Milton Williams is still criminally underrated.

Williams >> Davis until proven otherwise.

That Rabadi guy called this one a few days ago.

To be fair, so did I. Doesn’t take much on that one.

I hope Cox enjoys retirement. Time to go out to pasture and breed

Maybe he comes back as a late season add on for some playoff contender at some point.

I shouldn’t say he called it. He reported it.

We knew it was coming, and it doesn't sting quite as much as Kelce’s retirement, but it still sucks to see him go.

I don't think he's going to Canton, but Fletch was always one of my favourites. He was incredible from 2016-2018.

Joe Klecko, Richard Seymour, Bryant Young are the last 3 comps to get in.

I think Cox has an argument with them in.

Both RBs drafted in the last 25 years. One is in the Hall of fame, and one is not:

A) 15,000 total yards, 4.0 ypc, 91 TDs, 1 1st team All-Pro, 4 pro bowls

B) 15,000 total yards, 4.5 ypc, 89 TDs, 2 1st team All-Pro, 6 pro bowls

He’s gonna get in too eventually

I like Williams. I don't know that I like he and the two other young guys eating all of Fletch's snaps. I'd imagine the Eagles add a vet to help them out and rotate in. I don't think they add a starter.

I hope people realize that Cox’s on field contributions to the Eagles weren’t 1 ounce less than Kelce, who just gets all the attention.

Consistent above anything else. That's what worries me about the replacements. Can they come in week in, week out and give the same effort, give you good and sometimes great results?

I'm still saying look out for Javon Kinlaw or Bilal Nichols.

Justin Jones 27.5 years old. Matched Fletcher Cox in sacks and QB hits exactly. In almost identical amount of snaps. Jones had 6 more snaps. He had 49 tackles vs Cox's 33

Seems like a solid rotational piece to add who is still young. 3 years 18 million?

Mike Hoecht from the Rams, 26.4 years old. 77 tackles and 6 sacks.

Hasn't finished a full season since his rookie year and aside from last year, has been pretty meh and injured over the last 4 years.

I'd rather Swift for cheaper than Barkley at 10 million per.

That applies to Swift as well, only more so.

The Eagles aren't just losing all-time players in Kelce and Cox but they are losing good men and great leaders.  Guys who know what it takes to be a professional, a leader, and a champion. On the flip side, they also knew how to deal with losing, with hard work, with criticism and sky high expectations. I'm not as worried about Jurgens as I am the young DL. Bringing BG back might not have the on the field impact expected, but his continued leadership is imperative with this DL.

Horns in rock, R&B, Blues, and Funk (with a bow to George Clinton’s various conglomerations), I have to go with the Tower of Power horn section (Town of Power put out some mighty good R&B/Funk themselves).  Other than the Big Man on sax, there is no one at their orbit for horns in rock.  Got to see them live with Little Feat.  (TOP on Dixie Chicken on Waiting for Columbus is pure NOLA Dixieland sound I was exposed to as a child). The variations (still recording, I believe) of TOP played with just about everyone.

Nod to the work of the Funk Brothers in the late fifties, early sixties.  (You can hear the jazz influence in their beat).  (We are close enough in age, that I suspect you recognize the name, the youngsters in here may need to Google them).

Have you ever seen Standing in the Shadows of Motown?

I like Barkley.  Folks need to keep in mind that you’re getting one heck of a pass catcher in Barkley as well.

He's been healthier than Barkley, has less wear on the tires, will be cheaper and is more familiar with the team/fanbase.

Swift at a lower amount is a no brainer.
