It feels like Reich and Martindale are the only coordinators they can hire without fear of getting poached. Reich isn’t getting another HC job anytime soon. Wouldn’t think Martindale would get one either.

As much as I like Reich as a person/coach, we really need to bring in a fresh set of eyes from a different offensive scheme/coaching tree, imo

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I agree, but the crux of that is they’re gone in 1-2 years and they’re back to square one. My issue with keeping Nick is that this is how it’s always going to be. He’s not an X’s and O’s guy which isn’t necessarily the worst thing. A CEO type of coach is fine but they’re going to get brain drained every couple years if their coordinators have success.

Suggesting Martindale might get him fired

Sirianni must present an impressive list of coaches that meet Lowie's approval = we don't think you're good enough to win without a select group of coaches we handpick.

Tells me they don't think too highly of their coach.

As opposed to telling him to bring them a terrible list of coaches because he is so great,  and that would make a lot of sense...

The other important coaching hire I will be looking at is the DB coach. It is clear that this team felt the loss of Denard Wilson. I'm not sure DK McDonald is back next year after the the secondary issues all year. Kris Richard is out there

Wouldn't mind Dennard Wilson returning here to be our DC.

I don’t see the appeal in Vrabel; he’s a defensive coach who benefitted from a great RB, OL, and Tannehill being efficient for awhile.

Some team will be stupid enough to hire Jim Harbaugh.  Hope it isn’t the Eagles

Belichick is an interesting one.  I thought Jerry would cave and bring him in, but Belichick must have told him no.  I’m betting he knows most owners pretty well, and maybe he likes Arthur Blank and has been offered autonomy.  He might think if Arthur Smith won 7 games a year there, he can win 9-10 … and that division is still an easy one to win.

bad GM and owner didn't help him

why would he coach for nick who is a lame duck coach

As opposed to if you believe in him let him pick whomever he wants. And if you don't believe in him, move on. This is half measure BS.

Agreed.

They didn’t think he was ready last year and let him walk. He might have no interest in coming back.

What if they believe in him and also recognize his strengths and weaknesses and hire to add strength to his weak spots?

2 things can be true at once.  Like the guy and know where he needs help.

I dont see that happening under Siri. That relationship is broken

His interest is the question.

But him having another year under his belt with an actual good defense,  on another team- maybe they'll feel he is ready now.

How do you know this?

I used to do food delivery as a side hustle and one time I did a delivery to a sketchy townhouse complex late at night.  I get out of the car and see a young woman standing outside her door.  She was a nice looking girl, but wearing a bit too much makeup and her skirt was shorter than any skirt I’ve seen in my life.  I suspect she was a working girl.

The order was just a half sub sandwich and she gave a friendly "thank you” when I handed it to her.  I wanted to say "I hope I got here soon enough that you can finish your meal before your next customer arrives”, but I didn’t say that because I really didn’t want to get knifed in the appendix and bleed out on the ground.

Did she take the sub down in one bite?

True, but no need to say it publicly like this. Unless he thinks Wilson coming here is likely.

or he just really Fing hates Patricia

Question.

Why is Brendan Rice not a top 3 WR in this class?

I think he probably is but that's not where he's ranked.

I mean, why wouldn’t you just block someone that’s only there for insulting you and not actually bringing anything to the table.

For making a joke, online, which is quite funny?

I don't know about you, but that's hella soft. You are a public personality when in the media - develop some thicker skin

The report essentially was that his plan and his list of coaches need to meet the approval of Lurie and Howie or he's going to be fired. So they basically don't trust him enough to freely pick his own coaches. If they think his weaknesses are that vast to where he not only needs new coordinators, but need a select group of handpicked coordinators then they must not think he's all that great of a coach. Why not cut bait and try to get a coach good enough to where you would trust him to pick his own staff? Or you think can be good enough to where he wouldn't need this select group of coaches around him to be successful? If the bar is set this low for Sirianni, then he's wholly replaceable.

There are plenty of coaches around the league who get their coordinators plucked and don't miss a beat. Happens to Shanahan every year. If you need incredible coordinators to look good, you are most likely not that good.

Did she make eye contact while doing so?

Good question.

Keep seeing him going RD3-RD5 in the variety of mock draft simulators I toy around with.

We're talking cut from the loin of Jerry freaking Rice.

His highlight packages alone suggest at least RD2 potential.

You have that,  and then you have his 6'3" frame with a 38" vertical and hit 23mph on GPS. Its a ridiculous athletic package to go with the skill and pedigree.

He's better than odunze.

It should be Harrison, Nabers, Rice as the top 3.

It’s Twitter. It’s a toxic cesspool. And who’s to say it was a joke or funny? The keyword there was "insult” not joke.

Doesn’t really matter to me one way or the other. But if my livelihood was affected by loser trolls, I’d block them too.
