Interesting… thank you.

If we are really trying to trade Sweat or Reddick, this actually helps us.  Especially Sweat.

Not that I disagree with you, but I’m curious why you think that helps us?

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

If they trade both Sweat & Reddick and replace them with Smith & Huff, not seeing how that's not a major downgrade.

Count me in the small minority that would really, really like it.

Lamb and tuna fish? You like spaghetti and meatball better?

I kind of agree with Sheil that if the Eagles trade sweat and Reddick that they’re in play for Brian Burns. Because you’re not gonna pay Reddick and sweat long term anymore. You’re gonna get the draft capital trading them so can go out and make that move and still have a good amount of draft capital left over. Plus Brian Burns is 25 years old and that feels like a how we Roseman type move at that point. I tend to agree with Sheil on that point if both are dealt

I'm not sure they will get much for either but I'd love it. I'd almost prefer the picks to be next year with a deeper draft.

Wait…. Wut?  It’s a $25 mil dead cap hit for a measly $2.5 mil savings.  Something doesn’t add up

(Has he been threatening to hold out?  I’m 45 with a toddler.  I haven’t been following like I use to)

Yes, but its the \sSame discussion we had on Maddox.

49ers determined he wasn't worth $17.5m to play for them this year. Yes they only save $2.5m against this year but the remaining $15m is saved against next year's cap. With all these void year structures and how easy it is to roll cap space from one year to next, you got to look at it in its entirety rather than just an impact for this year. They can borrow some of the space from next year by converting some player who has a high base salary this year to a bonus.

1) I reserve the right for you all to mock me if I’m way off on this

2) I’m looking at Dline as a whole from a market standpoint.

I’m thinking if we are seeing legit talent on the defensive line hitting FA because they want to, contracts could become crazy.  So having players to trade with a set 2024 salary that you can extend with a manageable cap structure become really attractive.

I’ve thought they’d get 2nd and a midround pick for Reddick. I think Sheil was a little overzealous saying they’d get a first for sweat. I think sweat you’d likely get a second and maybe a late round pick.

My shock wasn’t just from a cap perspective, but rather they are looking to run it back one more time with this roster.

I think that’s a great point, hadn’t thought of it that way

I also haven’t slept well in 4 days, watched the Oscars and took a fistful of melatonin, so my mind is mush and I’m probably way off base

it would be much cheaper

replacing Reddick with Nolan Smith was the plan when he was drafted, I thought.

Also, mid 40s with a toddler. I’m basically just trying to make it to retirement at this point.

Picture this

Edge-Greenard- pretty expensive but less than Danielle Hunter presumably. Big ticket signing. 4/72M

S-McKinney- maybe a bunch of money for safety but in a down market for safeties, not a bank breaker. Upper mid-tier price level. 3/33?

Nickel- Gardner-Johnson- cheap 1/3M

I think you have money left to re-sign Swift (cheap), sign a solid starting LB (mid-tier), and a 3rd WR.

I think all of that is doable with the amount of money we have. Sets us up very well heading in to the drat.

CJGJ's ego would never let him sign here for a contract that low after all the yapping he did on the way out last time

I agree he won’t go that low… But I think he’s going to be humbled by what he gets this time around.

this is insane!! Never seen something like this before. How do you send a coach up to the podium immediately after firing them? I know nothing about her or her coaching career at Utah St but She handled it incredibly well

"Hey I know that we just fired you, but be a dear and go out there to face the media. I realize you haven't had time to process this, but on the positive side you'll have plenty of free time to do so now. Cheers!"

Should be some free agent news today.

Another Crazy part is there’s people on Twitter saying she deserved this because apparently the basketball team she coached was really bad

Yup. I haven’t went to bed yet, I’m almost scared to. I have all of the main insiders tweets turned on right now, I have a feeling I’m going to wake up to a ton of notifications.

Side note, Wilson signing for the vet minimum so Denver has to pay basically his full salary is absolutely hilarious. Wilson wasn’t good, but I did think Denver did him a little dirty so what a great middle finger back to them.

I get that Steelers fans aren’t psyched about Wilson, him + Tomlin will keep them just good enough to be out of legit QB prospect range next year. But you really can’t be mad at getting him for THAT cheap.

I had Wilson going to Steelers. Still think Cousins goes to Atlanta, Fields to Vegas.

Williams to Chicago, Maye/Daniels goes 2 & 3 but not sure who gets drafted first, Minnesota trades up for JJ, Denver settles for Nix.

Deserved to be let go sure. Not to be humiliated.

For sure. Terribly unprofessional by that athletic director, sports admin, really anyone involved in that decision. Fire her after the game, it’s not cool but whatever that’s happened before, But have someone else do the press conference then.

It's in line with your values of getting younger on defense and spending the money on offense.
