  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

I expect to see at least one of the following Birds transactions today, and maybe more than one (not saying I love or hate any of them, just most likely things):

-Eagles sign Bryce Huff

-Eagles sign Azeez Al-Shahir

-Eagles sign Justin Simmons

-Eagles trade Josh Sweat for a 2 and a 6

-Eagles sign Jerome Baker

-Eagles resign D’Andre Swift

I also think Fangio wants Van Ginkel and it happens during the tampering period

That would be an awesome return for sweat seeing as how his knees are a ticking time bomb

The Eagles have interest in Xavier McKinney and C.J. Gardner-Johnson, per @caplannfl.

One player he says won’t be coming to Philly, barring an unforeseen change: Darnell Savage. He says there’s an AFC team involved.

The Eagles also are interested in Geno Stone.

Cap a little late to the party with the first two

Yup.  Ryan Leaf was talking this morning about how the Steelers are now AFC contenders.  That was worthy of a guffaw.

The rumors are we are supposed to be very active in free agency, but that's what they say basically every year at this point. I'll believe it when I see it.

They are always active. Actively searching the dumpster for reclamation projects and damaged goods

That's exactly where I'm at. People are going crazy with predictions and I just don't see it happening

Hypothetical

You have no Quarterback and a historically bad Oline. You have the first pick in a strong QB draft (not specifically this one), but prior to that in Free Agency you have this choice:

1) Trade the pick for Josh Allen and give him 60m$ AAV

2) Sign 4 Pro Bowl Caliber Olinemen for 60m$ AAV

Which do you do?

Him and XM would be a good day.

In a few hours I am going to be feeling like we are once again the team to beat in the NFC, and a legit super bowl contender. I can feel it coming.

Thats what she said.

He is 29. But, I get the fit. You want to bring in at least a couple Fangio guys and he is an effective player so Ill like it.

Not saying i do or do not want Barkley but keep in mind he's been playing for the Giants and their crap O-line.

I'd like to see him run behind the Eagles O-line but then again there are going to be 2 new starters at center and RG.  So who knows if the line takes a step back.

But not one minute before, you guys.

Every year fans get themselves overhyped about free agency only to be let down.

Most years Howie signs mid-level band aids and 1 year deals so there are no "needs" going into the draft. Every couple of years or so, he makes the one "big splash" free agent signing like Reddick, Hargrave or Brandon Brooks. He doesn't sign 5-6 top free agents like a dream team. It would be quite a shakeup to sign multiple multi-year contract free agents.

Some guys he signs don't even play. Last year he signed corner Greedy Williams and fans were upset that was all he was going to do to address corner. They brought back Bradberry and extended Slay, drafted Ringo, signed UDFA Ricks. Then cut Greedy Williams in August.

Easily #2. If the draft is so strong you trade down for a king's ransom and get a QB the next year, or you could possibly find a starter later in the same draft.

Doesn't matter who your QB is if their line sucks

I’d be surprised at any big eagles news today.  Take a step back

The first big RB domino to fall.

We have some money to actually spend this year.

I think Barkley can be a playmaker here. He will hit a hole and his speed will create big plays. That already occasionally happens with the Giants.

My issue is, for the excitement over his talent, speed, and size- he creates next to nothing. And despite his size, he doesnt run with any power and gain touch yards.

Im not against signing him. I think if they sign him its because the RB market is depressed, and they should sign 2 guys.
