You have that,  and then you have his 6'3" frame with a 38" vertical and hit 23mph on GPS. Its a ridiculous athletic package to go with the skill and pedigree.

He's better than odunze.

It should be Harrison, Nabers, Rice as the top 3.

Think Brian Thomas is going to be a player too.

Really want Malachi Corley here for the slot. Think he is the second coming of Deebo Samuel. Could be the piece that fixes the offense. Late RD2.

They're so dysfunctional. They either believe in him or they don't. Presenting a "good plan" should not factor in one way or the other. And if Lurie believes in him then he's either totally clueless or he and Howie just like having a yes man to be their head coach.

If the Eagles are the team that fires a head coach who took the team to the Super Bowl 1/3 times and the playoffs 3/3 times,  the Eagles are the team that never gets a good coach again.

Now, trading Siri is a different story.  Terrible Eagles fans might want to run Siri out of town,  but others might quite like a 3/3 playoffs 1/3 Super Bowl appearance coach and would be willing to pay for him in a trade.  This might be where Howie comes in,  probably would be able to spin Siri into a Gruden type heist.  2 firsts and 2 seconds.

Someone wants Brian,  don't want to lose Brian, make Brian HC, Siri spent a long time with the Chargers, it works out.

Man, I want a coach like him...oh and some competent LB too.

Something doesn’t add up here. Everything you stated would definitely tell us that he should be rated higher. Top 3? I don’t think so.

This is what I don’t understand. He wasn’t even the top receiver at USC this year. In four college seasons he totaled 1800+ yds. Granted he spent two years at Colorado but his best season, this year, he had 791.

If he is underrated someone gets a steal in the middle to late rounds. If he isn’t underrated and you take him in the 2nd round? You get caught reaching.

Where he gets drafted might depend on what type of offense a team runs and how he fits into it also.

Are you drafting pedigree or player, an argument can be made for both in this case because he is Jerry’s son.

How does Sirianni even start these conversations with prospective coaches? "Hey, man, I think you’re probably good enough that Mr. Lurie won’t fire me. Will you take this job? Like, you know, my job depends on it. I can’t go out like Doug did. That would be embarrassing.”

Been seeing some rumblings from people who cover the Dolphins that Fangio could get fired. Mike McDaniel was asked about Fangio I think back on Monday and if Fangio's job was safe and he dodged the question. And I've seen some other guys say it's no lock he stays. Apparently it's not entirely performance related, there's some clashing going on between him and the front office.

The funny thing is if he does become available no one will want him this time around because everyone's sick of the Fangio defense.

That should go over well with the folks in here…

That is a coach who brings something to his team. Nick never will.

@Random Reglar would love him.  Ras, ras, ras

What coordinator would want to come here knowing that when they don’t hit expectations they are going to be canned after the year (at best) ??!!!

if the giants had a brain and played Tyrod these prideless F’s would have lost 7 straight to end the year?

If you bring these idiots back it sets the team back 2 years and probably does irreparable damage to your 250 million dollar investment.

What am I missing here?!!??

well,  sorta.  but  Pro Football Focus is PFF.

Both are sets of data,  and I like sets of data.   I like PFF, I like ras, I like sparq.

It did seem like he was trying to be more engaged and animated/supportive on the sidelines towards the end of the season. Unti Goedert ****ed him out of course lol.

Seriously, though, we forget that he is still a young QB learning as he goes.  One thing I do know for sure is that he wants to win and has a great work ethic.  I hope that he can learn from the failures of this season to make him a better player and leader.

I also hope we don't have dim wits coaching him.

Stoic is nice in the face of adversity and when you're going through the ish, not 24/7/365 like a Fing robot. It just looks like he doesn't give a F 99% of the time.

Good.  Eagles fans are the worst fans in the world.  That's what they need to do.  Do whatever it takes to drive away the current fans, and then bring a whole new brand of fans.  The kind that applaud anything or everything the team does.  Would be perfect.  Eagles would then fix their home field disadvantage.

Are you talking about freakbest fans, who have the best measurables and can basically cheer from any position because they did that during elementary school?! Sounds like a winning formula 😅😅😅

You just be self-aware and admit that not having any experience to lean upon on the coaching staff was a blunder. Older coaches especially are going to value that others value experience. And if they're looking for work, it all works out just fine. It's not really that difficult.

The thing that most fans don't get is that while fans know absolutely nothing about the work that goes in every day to field an NFL team, NFL coaches do, so they realize how difficult every win is in terms of the work that is put in by an organization just to win on any given Sunday.

I sincerely think this would be a tremendous move. People deeply under-estimate the value of coaching networks when filling staff. Similar to many other fields, networking is an incredible tool. Add to that his expertise and experience, not to mention his dealing with Cam Newton during the early era of the hybrid QB (and thus connection to Mike Shula) and I think this would provide ample staff support for Nick, similar to what was given to Doug.

- And equally importantly, for some reason, what people think Nick doesn't deserve.

Ron Rivera? No thanks. And if that’s true then that means Sirianni is back. But then 2-3 days after that disastrous play off game he’s still not been fired so he’s not going to be. Man what a ish show next year is probably going to be.

5 hours ago, BDawk_ASamuel said:

I agree, but the crux of that is they’re gone in 1-2 years and they’re back to square one. My issue with keeping Nick is that this is how it’s always going to be. He’s not an X’s and O’s guy which isn’t necessarily the worst thing. A CEO type of coach is fine but they’re going to get brain drained every couple years if their coordinators have success.

This isn't true. League hiring has trends. Right now, the trend is to go after young guys. So the only thing you have to do is go against the trend. If you hire against the trend, then what'll happen is you'll end up with candidates that are more often overlooked, and by doing so, you'll keep them longer.

On top of that, you have to realize that just because Head Coaches are Head Coaches does not mean that their progression stops during their duration with the position. They can grow and get better as well. I think it's not necessarily about Nick being an X's and O's guy or not, I think what's really going on is that the scheme (Reich, Steichen, Sirianni) is only barely NFL viable, and requires a lot of micro knowledge to make it NFL viable - and that's why only Shane seems to be successful with it.

But you can fix that problem by implementing more concepts into it. Problem is, young coaches have less concepts under their belt than older demographics. Therefore, bringing in opposing schools of thought to allow the offensive scheme to evolve gives the best chance. I want to point it out that despite being a young coach, Sirianni had exactly 0 coordinators that were older than him. Everyone else was younger.

Doug had Schwartz his entire tenure in Philadelphia. He had Reich originally in Philadelphia. Both are older than him.

Then who would you want for DC? Please nobody young. Piling together young coaches is a terrible idea. I just think you want actual experience and coaching networks there.

I think for me it’s more that Sirianni has reached out. That suggests that Sirianni will be back and I want no part of that.

I agree that the DC should be an older, experienced coach like Schwartz was. I’d also want a DC that brings a new scheme and not this Fangio type. I would prefer a more attacking style D, which actually wants to punish the opposing offense.

I see. Me personally I think it'd be an extremely bad idea to fire Sirianni, but I'm aware that a lot of others are furious about the season and feel the opposite. I just feel that a lot of the coaches in the NFL both know and realize how much winning Sirianni has done, and no one worth their salt will want to come to Philadephia considering that, Howie's power vicegrip, and Philadelphia's notoriously demanding fanbase.

Which is really bad because the chance of us downgrading is not low.
