Safe to assume neither of these guys are coming back if a team captain is saying this.

Slay is the least captainish team captain this team has ever had.   I'd rather he were gone.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

How did we go from Jim Johnson to this. Ugh.

Also bad drafting on the defensive side. Think back until then, whom have we drafted CB and S wise that have panned out? Even LB. This is what you get when you totally change your defensive philosophy

I don’t think McCarthy is a bad coach. Their defence and dak were their problem

Out of nowhere they started playing defense like us in the playoffs lol. Soft coverage and got torched. Idk why people are happy, we got out coached by them twice this season!

Agree with you 100%

There's your logistical issues. Good to see the owner taking this so serious.

Why would Lurie need to meet Sirianni yesterday? Lurie is giving him some time to formulate his plan, and Lurie is probably taking a day or two to cool off after a disastrous end to the year.

Yeah, he's a clown that puts off  'for-who-for-what' vibes and at this point is an average CB - so not captain material, but the best guy we have at that position, smh.

Not just Sirianni but yesterday was locker clean out for all of the players. I just assumed he would want to be around for that, especially given the way the season ended and the impact of the veterans who may have played their last games as an Eagle. I know this wasn't his only chance to talk to them but the optics of it look bad IMO.

From a fan standpoint, it looks bad that the team he built just had one of the biggest collapses in NFL history and he's already island hopping. It's about how it looks more than what actually would be accomplished with him being here.

Yup time to move on.

He’s not a bad coach…HC that is…he’s also not a good one.  He’s average, not quite Jeff Fisher or Norv Turner territory but it’s close.

I don’t think it looks bad at all, but I suppose I’m looking at this rationally rather than emotionally.

Wasn't Dennard Wilson here when we played in the SB and guys were running open for TDs?

Wilson might be a better DB coach than whoever is currently here but I'm not so sure he would have done better this year.

Don't forget all the defensive starters that were lost and replaced with bums.

Desai and Patricia aren't great by any means but I think the talent was the bigger issue.  Wilson wouldn't have made a difference.

Not listening to this. Not many CBs are going to look good with 10 yards if cushion and safeties 15 yards behind them in a backpedal. There was no construction or schematic team defense all year. No effort to force the offense into certain plays, no shades or brackets to force throws into coverage. Pass rushers even seemed like they were all playing 1 on 1 with no unit mentality or goal.

Rasul Douglas, Jalen Mills, and Eric Rose made decent careers for themselves. Trading for Slay was worth the draft capital. We had CJGJ, Epps were above average pair. There are 3 avenues to build a roster, relying on the riskiest one is overblown by this fan base. We won a SB because of drafting,  free agents and trades. Foles, Alshon, Torrey, Peters, Brooks, Jenkins, Blount, Jernigan, Bradham, Darby, McLeod, Ajayi, Chris Long, Patrick Robinson, and Jake Elliot.

Bad tackling, lack of physicality, confusion on defense, and no common goal is to me a sign of coaching and philosophy rather than individual players.

Sydney Brown mentioned practice habits show in the game.
Sweat mentioned he’s used to rushing the passer and having a teammate in position for help if QB is flushed.

Watching our team attempting tackles by grabbing shoulder pads with their hands is WILD, pop Warner football bad.

In general, or on this particular game? I don't think there's enough data yet to make a judgement on the latter and it broke the record for viewership of a live streaming event. I wouldn't count those chickens until all the data (i.e. numbers on new subs) comes in.

Gross generalization, so much of the world is gullible through. So i know a lot of people shelled out money for the service (or a lot already have it).  But the NFL has reached a point where they’re trying to find new avenues to bring in revenue. This peacock thing, Amazon for Thursday games (it’s amazon right?), the switch to YouTube that is somehow more expensive than DirectTV.  Fubu has a lot too?  Stream service fatigue is going to catch up at some point.  I should have added ‘will’ to that statement.

yeah they were quite aggressive all season with picks and sack and then played like soft ass turds against the packers.

He’s clearly not taking this seriously. Time to sell the team.

The NFL is as popular as ever. There's no evidence I've seen that they're running into financial issues or struggling to sell their product (even if some of the more dedicated fans like us don't agree with many of the decisions the league is making.)

I'm not looking at it emotionally at all. I have no emotional connection to this team and look at everything they do from an objective standpoint.

Correct, but how long are they going to be able to ask for ridiculous money for these ‘exclusive’ things?  That’s what I think will happen.  The NFL certainly isn’t hurting at all.

I’ve never met a white Marcus.
