what does that offense have to do with him always being injured?

I think you are confusing lack of efficient production with injury.

$26 million guaranteed is too much, IMO. Will wait to see full structure, but this seems to be a terrible overpay.

Maybe I’m hopeful but my guess it’s  probably first 2 years fully guaranteed at 13m per year. Incentives could get him 15.5m. And then it’s probably just an effective team option on the third

barkley was never mistaken for a power runner until you did it just now. funny. it seems like no one has ever watched him play before.

Breaks arm tackles, fights for forward yards, can run through very gap and hits it hard. Also has good feet to change course if needed. If you want Jerome Bettis or AJ Dillon sure they’re big guys, power runners, but Barkley is plenty strong to suffice for what we’d look for in a "power back”

I tweaked it yesterday but it wasn’t bad. Then today we were playing mini golf and I squatted down to pick up the ball after an amazing hole in one (no one fact check that), and it took everything I had to get up. I can’t even sit down. The sight of me trying to climb in through the tailgate of an SUV to get here must have been something else.

Dude

OK, so after the initial flurry, we still need the following:

Safety: McKinney or Simmons. I'd also add CJGJ if he is cheap enough for his slot versaility

LB: Feels like Howie bargain shops here. Al-Shaair or Willie Gay could make sense. Jerome Baker?

WR3: Noah Brown or Cedrick Wilson have experience with Moore.

Sweat/Reddick: one's gotta go

I'm a big Jalen Hurts guy, but no excuses this year. Go out there and win 11+ games.

They won 11 games last year with a defense that couldn't stop anyone.   I want 12 or more.  Schedule will be a bit easier... and they should have at least a middle of the pack defense which is a massive upgrade from last year.

Yup.

Thats what makes sense.

Huff is cheaper than Reddick. Then you trade Reddick for some premium draft picks.

Great opportunity cost.

I'm not really high on Sweat. It's a plus he's 26 but he's coming off a down year. I believe he has a cap hit of 25 mil next year? I'd be ok with a more friendly deal

So maybe I should have just been happy with the socks and underwear.

I didn't ask for a Fabrege egg that Dad had to refinance the house for.

Barkley has tons of power.  His legs are the size of most defensive ends (if not bigger).   Would be interesting to see who squats more - Hurts or him.  lol

I was on the fence about the Saquon signing, but now that I see @HazletonEagle is against it, I'm 110% IN.

Im actually pretty happy with it. The skill position starters look ridiculous right now. He will be a big time playmaker here behind this OL.

i just hope he can stay healthy, and be a more consistent runner.

Be nice if we used him, or any RB really, a bit in the passing game.

oohh k.... showing ignorance through sarcasm.

I get you want to like the signing.

Im pretty excited about the possibility of what he can be here. But realistic enough to know hes overrated and injury prone. If you dont know that and just site the games played stat it shows you havent paid attention.

Almost every NFL player is playing through something. Barkley always has something that is actually slowing him down. There is a difference. Maybe youll notice it now that he is an eagle.

The hope is that the team uses him like SF uses CMC.  They actually develop plays with Barkley as a receiver.  I am not sure that Barkley is a much of an upgrade over Swift. He is an upgrade over Gainwell.  If they use him as a 3 down back, then it makes more sense.

If you’re trying to nitpick saquon Barkley but have been lauding the 49ers and mccaffery since he went to SF, then you should probably just find your way out of the conversation.

McKinney and Al-Shaair. Trade Reddick

What's the cap savings on Reddick?

Im actually sure both of those things are issues for him. You just keep pretending the injuries arent a thing. But they are. Its a fact.

I don’t see the hype

Luckily scouts and GMs don’t look at box scores to see how good a player is or isn’t.

There really isn't much. They save more by extending him. A lot more.

I'd rather go for a cheaper safety and trade for Lattimore than spend that cash on McKinney.

I dont think theres a single person here who fits that description. What an odd post.

Hurts I think had a 5.3 % for Checkdown rate. That has to be higher this year

If you guys thought Saquon was dynamic playing for an offensive mastermind like James Franklin, wait till you see him under Nick Sirianni!
