The eagles maybe took it too far but we’re just ahead of the curve on it - look at how many safeties are complaining that safeties don’t get paid anymore.

One big thing I’ve come to understand is just how hard it is to project a safety into a different defense. I get paying big money to keep your own guy because he’s perfect for what you do on D, but otherwise just go to the next tier and you’re just as likely to strike gold. In fact that’s exactly what the eagles did with Jenkins and to an extent also with McLeod.

That being said, with safeties contracts deflated I’d be excited to bring in Simmons on a reasonable deal. He’s done it big time and for Fangio.

Yes, and just because the market doesn't value RB / LB and to a bit lesser degree S doesn't mean it makes no sense to sign one big.

Now, I completely agreed with the strategy as if the market is low you can find people on the cheap. But the flip side to this could be that you can get a player who really makes a difference for what is not much money - in relative terms to his impact.

It's funny, I've always wanted us to get a star back behind this line to beat teams up. Now that I finally came to terms with the fact that we just don't build that way we go and get Barkley..

Disagree. He's not worth that. Might as well pay a little bit more for someone better.

Singletary is actually pretty solid. That's about his value given the new cap.

Board seemed happier when we had Frank Gore for an hour

Still need a big back with good blocking/blitz p/u skills. Late rd. draft pick? F/A? Who’s out there?

Barkley is really good at that.

Just gonna have to agree to disagree. I don't like him and he's going to be 27. He's been on good offensive teams and can't run for more than 800 yards. He's not a lead back.

Why would GB spend $17 million/yr on McKinney when Savage signed elsewhere for $8 million/yr?

Is he twice the player that Savage is at the position?

Yea, but a big, short yardage back with similar skills is needed. Just don’t know who’s out there.

Where’s the linebacker help!! Sheesh!

Man, a 24 year old top safety would've been awfully nice. Howie better have something brewing and don't tell me about that weirdo CJGJ

this sounds like us on the first few days of free agency last year, but there are plenty of options at safety left.

Curl is probably #1 right now.

Im ok with signing two cheaper guys though like Elliott and Gardner-Johnson. CJ can compete for nickel, or Blankenship's role. Prefer him to play nickel.

Simmons or Curl.

Not a great group to be competing with

Texans arrow is pointing way up. Had a lot of fun watching them last year.

He's the most New Englandey RB out there and available...makes sense.

I'm worried about Barkley but remember CMC couldn't stay healthy in Carolina.  Then all the sudden he goes to SF and hardly misses time.

Not sayin that will happen with Barkley but maybe we'll get lucky.

Yeah watching Stroud sling it was fun, very happy he’s in AFC & not our conference

I would think Curl would be looking at a deal similar to McKinney, he’s just a year older.  Think that puts us out of the market for him, which is a bummer.

Curl forces no turnovers. Don't get the love for him this secondary has lacked turnover ability for years outside of 2022.

He's not going to get close to the McKinney deal

I am a big Tank Dell fan, and I can love DeMeco again now that he left the 40Whiners.
