Part of me always thought the eagles were limiting swifts carries to increase their bargaining power come FA but then they turn around and pay barkley more than swift.

You give a back top 5 RB money one better give him carries, if not its a gross misuse of resources.

Titans were listed as a team strongly after Awuzie and CJGJ. They got one of them so far.

Your last sentence is mainly what I’m getting at here, he’ll be 32 entering the season. I don’t think it’s a bad signing & I think he’ll have a bigger impact than Chase Young did. But describing him as big time edge help is a bit much for me. I still can’t believe they re-signed their RT, that’s crazy to me.

• Howie won't make big splashes and will be asleep at the wheel: already extended Dickerson, signed Huff and Barkley
• Howie will only sign cheap leftovers after initial free agency
• Eagles never pay big $ to RBs (they paid McCoy, DeMarco Murray and now Barkley)
• The league doesn't value RBs - run on RBs on day 1 of free agency
• Concerned about Dickerson: Howie's first move was to extend Dickerson
• Barkley must be a smokescreen there's no way they sign him

Now some of you are already complaining they haven't done enough. Where's the LB and Safety?

I’m in the minority it seems about Barkley, You guys can call me out & I’ll eat crow if I’m wrong about it in a year or two, but for today I’m happy about the signing & enjoying the kool aid

So is there enough ball to go around for Brown, Smith, Goedert and now Barkley after putting a lot of money into him? Feels like someone is going to constantly be unhappy.

Considering Hurts also likes to just bail and run it... no. Someone's going to be unhappy. Publicly it'll be Brown and privately it'll be Smith

No, we are trading Smith and AJ.  The Eagles will sign Derrick Henry and run a split backfield set.

That's my concern.  Removing Saquon from the conversation, chasing a good RB at the cost of resolving systemic issue at the face of it, seems counter intuitive to what the team struggled with last season when a Safety could make a larger impact on the D.  We'll have to hurry up and wait on the Secondary

This article sums up perfectly why I'm not a big fan of the Barkley signing or any big money free agent RB signing. The last time a top 10 paid RB won a Super Bowl was Marshawn Lynch in 2013. You can see the list of Super Bowl winners and their cheap running backs.
