There were 54 catches between OZ, Julio, Stoll, Calcaterra, Scott, Covey and Penny. 

Let's go back to Hurts rushing numbers. He had 157 carries. 40 were sneaks. 117 were called runs or scrambles. I wish I could find the numbers that shows scrambles. If Hurts improves on scrambles, throw aways and taking sacks, those 54 catches from anyone not WR1/WR2/TE1 could bump up significantly.

To be fair it’s the old Panthers front office that screwed this up, they make the trade a year ago like they should have, they’d have a bunch of picks. Carolina is the new Washington Commanders, gonna be awful forever with Tepper there. 
 

Overpaid for a decent guard, no WR, still a huge ? with their QB. But they have 2 2nd rd picks!!!

Yeah he can freelance here and there - that’s the trade off with most ball hawks.  
It’s a matter of whether they’re smart about it and do it at the right time/moment in a game - usually based off of reading a QB’s/receiver’s tendencies, etc.  

Asante Samuel was the same way when he was here - would freelance all the time, cut routes off etc.  Once in a while it would cost him but in most cases would either disrupt a pass or lead to a pick.

Still the draft. I expected them to invest in the defense significantly through the draft before FA started. Outside of finding Lane's replacement and slot WR...the offense is set
