  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Yeah he can freelance here and there - that’s the trade off with most ball hawks.
It’s a matter of whether they’re smart about it and do it at the right time/moment in a game - usually based off of reading a QB’s/receiver’s tendencies, etc.

Asante Samuel was the same way when he was here - would freelance all the time, cut routes off etc.  Once in a while it would cost him but in most cases would either disrupt a pass or lead to a pick.

Don’t pretend CJGJ was anything like Samuel.  Samuel was a film junkie.  He was Streichen and CJCJ was Brian Johnson.  Samuel knew the tendencies of the teams he played.  Freelance?  Hardly.  Position based on those studies, yes.  Now sometimes that positioning hurt because of his speed but it wasn’t freelancing like CJGJ.

I commented when he first was in the Eagles lineup that he looked like he was just learning to play S.  Epps was a better S than he was that year despite not being the athlete CJGJ is.  I did think he improved as the season progressed.  Now last year Bradberry really missed Epps.

Edmunds is a flop.  Evans isn’t much better and so fragile.  Blankenship lacks speed and that can be taken advantage of.  Brown likely starts the season on PUP and that is a huge disadvantage to a player learning S in the NFL.

is Budda Baker super washed?  Hes only 28.

He’s still under contract in Arizona. Had a couple injuries last season. He’s on a contract year next season

I texted him. He said he'd call me later. He's working on something at the moment

You will get Morrow Dean and Cunningham again and you will like it

No but that's a steal

I know Howie doesn’t like to draft back seven talent, so I’ve been assuming we’d bring in a starter-caliber player at both LB and S.

Did we re-sign Mann yet?

Brissett to NE

The career bridge QB

sigh, I really wanted him in Philly.

Such a weird story

Goodell should be fired for this.

Baker is not that good. Dolphins made a point to upgrade there, I'm passing

And Baker was released with a failed physical designation.

Steelers have a huge need at center, missed out on all FA possibilities, and so now if I’m a betting man (I am) they will take Jackson Powers-Johnson at 20. Potentially great news for Eagles to have JPJ go before 22 & also go to a team that would potentially take a CB or OT. Hopefully Denver doesn’t find a QB & goes for Bo Nix as well

$8M up to $12M. A bit too pricey

You may be right. Its high for a center but theyve done that before when it was even more unheard of to do so.

On the other hand, Id have no problem with Powers-Johnson here to play RG.

Just waiting on the sweat/reddick trade to break

I think we talked about it weeks ago & you said he’d probably price out of here, you were right.

Still no guarantee, maybe this FA center class causes an opposite effect & JPJ falls so they take him in the 2nd instead.

Are we moving to a true 3-4? If so, couldn't Milton/Carter play end?

I think thats exactly the plan

Didn't Herbig play some center? Maybe they could look to him ?
