Looking at the wide receiver market, there is a lot of guys that you can get on a nice deal that can be solid number threes and have upside. Just looking at the list you have Tyler Boyd (think he gets paid more than you’d want to pay), DJ chark, berrios, MVS, van Jefferson, Shepard, Wilson, Josh Reynolds, hardman and Curtis Samuel

And a horrible playing surface that totally negated the eagles pass rush

Ill be convinced til the day I die that had that been a real field the D gets multiple sacks and eagles win.

Preach.

Forever asterisk.

You must have glossed right over this:

Many of us believe the field conditions played a part.

Regardless, our offense had a lot of success that day as well. Even if the defense suffered due to the field, the offense was then required to win the game. That could happen in any outdoor SB venue. All I'm saying is that if everything else remains the same on defense, improving the offense will help the defense.

I did gloss over that sorry, as soon as i read the defense in the super bowl rage filled my brain and i disregarded the rest...

I agree though adding barkley in theory should help the D.

Hollywood Brown would be incredible for this offense.  He’d be the Blake Snell addition.  Don’t really need him…but he’d slot right in, pun intended, and would make this offense very exciting.

Nothing this offseason and everything last season points away from a shorter slot.  Hurts again avoided the middle last year.  May tie directly to OZ (5’8”). They just extended Albert O, 6’ 5”.  The majority of offseason WRs signed are 6’3” or 6’5”.  Herbert being the exception at 6’1” but at 239, he sounds more like an Hback.   Granted these are all long shots to make the team but it sure seems to reflect the thinking.  Moore likes quick slant off motion to the middle of the field.  Post Moore signings at RB are 6’ and 6’ 1”.  That may be a factor as well.  Hurts needs to be able to see targets over the middle so I suspect that’s what is playing into their thinking.  I could be wrong but that’s my projection.

None of them are 1-2s but as a 3 on a cheap contract I’d take a flier on a couple of those guys. Currently it’s covey as the 3rd WR.

Hard to fix the divide when we go stereotypes the other way. Just a thought.

Feel like WR3 might be addressed in the draft.

Some quality, tall dudes will fall.

Brenden Rice, I'm looking at you.

Thought for the day I think Barkley means they’ll go less expensive on backup QB and will count on Barkley to help win 1 or 2 games if Hurts is out a brief period

How is it being a homer to want Baker lol

He played under Fangio last season & is only 27 & was decent, it’s not that bad of an idea to want him

I guess he's not the worst but we can do better and should've. Baker is going to want to get paid since he wouldn't agree to a restructure. Who's left at LB? Queen isn't realistic. I'd rather Jewel but he's not young anymore either. Wagner, David? Nothing here gets me excited as the younger good players were all signed today.

Sounds spot on which at 6'3" Chark may make sense ...

Problem is i don’t want to just rely on a rookie to hit the ground running as wr 3. If god forbid brown or smith gets hurt, i don’t want to hope a rookie is just ready. And they are unlikely taking one rounds 1-2. I want a veteran to compete with the rookie and covey.

They need an upgrade at the 3rd WR spot but they also need someone who is going to be content with getting a max of 3-4 targets/touches a game if everyone is healthy. Curtis Samuel might want more than that and get a decent enough bag to take him out of the running but he would be great in that role. Cedrick Wilson makes a ton of sense which has been brought up about 50 times here. I think Parris Campbell on a cheap one year deal would be an interesting option. My guess is they will sign someone they can get really cheap like Campbell or Jefferson who may or may not work out and draft someone in the mid rounds of the draft as well.

Truth.

Depth is strength.

Need a vet to compete with a rookie for WR3.

Hope they make a run at someone tomorrow.

Yeah i think samuel probably gets more than they are willing to spend. But i do love Samuel’s ability to be moved all around and as a no. 3 but it’s highly unlikely. I think Jefferson and Campbell make sense. I’d like DJ chark if he’s cheap enough. He’s had some injury issues but i still think he has solid upside if brown or smith get hurt. And still allows you to take one in round 4-5

I kind of think you probably could wait until the second wave of free agency to get somebody and you’re gonna get them at a good price.

Curious to see if he plays better after leaving the chargers

LB market continues to thin.

Baker, Queen, or one of the OGs

Looking at the free agent list some guys who they might be able to get on a cheap one year deal:

Parris Campbell, Van Jefferson, Mecole Hardman, DJ Chark, Laviska Shenault
