The only reason I'm not roasting you is because you technically haven't said anything against CJGJ playing slot. He is a great slot. But he shouldn't be anywhere near safety. Some people were unhappy with Blank's tackling this year right? Even though he did pretty well? Okay...

This is Blankenship, right? Sorted by highest percentage of missed tackles to low. 8.9% seem high? Kay.

Yeah now here's CJGJ. Note the 7.5% is his rookie year, he's actually gotten even less consistent as he's moved to safety and got exposed to tackling situations more. He absolutely cannot tackle. I can't understand for the life of me why people want him if they weren't happy with Blank's tackling - CJGJ managed to miss the same amount of tackles as Blank did, twice...

...With only a little over half the total tackles he had.

I really don’t care about missed tackles if I’m being honest. Nor do I put much value in that stat because what is considered a missed tackle? If a runner jukes a safety, the safety slows him up, but doesn’t quite tackle him to the ground and then another defender comes over and brings him down fully, does that count as a missed tackle?

If he’s getting INTs and good in coverage I really don’t care. 10 missed tackles for an entire season is considered bad and that’s fewer than one per game and that one missed tackle may be totally irrelevant.

I swear, the Niners game broke peoples brains. They saw Morrow bounce off Deebo and him run to the house and now have extreme PTSD about tackling.

That usually doesn't bode well for a high return.  Can they get a 3rd round pick for him?

Health aside, he likely will. This is a vastly better team.

My whole point was that I'd rather take Swift and possibly spend more elsewhere (maybe we get McKinney as an example if we go that route), but the Eagles felt comfortable. It is what it is.

I'll buy us both a virtual beer with the hopes that he proves to be worth every penny. Deal?

It's hard to know whether signing Barkley impacted not signing McKinney.  They may have had a price tag on the position relative to other players available at that positing that impacted it more.

Hardly a surprise. He couldn't maintain contain for most of last season and with a new scheme, so long, thanks for the memories.

His 25 mil cap hit next year was just crazy

I'm guessing a 4th

If they still have 30M and extend him freeing up 11 more,  we can evens Smitj AND still make another big splash.  And sign a few cheaper guys.

With Sweat being gone... Reddick extension more likey now? Extra 11 mil would be nice

If we move Sweat and extend Reddick, I'd be thrilled. Reddick, Huff, Smith and BG as edge rushers...I like it. Maybe add in draft in mid rounds.

Doubt it. I think they both get traded.

Yeah. Issue with Reddick is we save a ton of cap if we extend him, but we take a sizable dead cap hit if we trade him.

But then that marks 3 undersized pass rush specialists at DE. We need a young Brandon Graham type to cournerbalance

The Eagles were top 10 in cap space heading into FA and they have made some solid moves.

Looks like Sweat is on the move, maybe a player trade instead of draft picks?

I think they will stay put with Reddick and not extend him. If he will play on the last year of his deal, great. If not, I expect them to try and trade him. I really don't think he is in their plans long term.

Please get a 3 for Sweat🙏

I always assumed one gets traded. Not both. I can't see both

It's a pretty weak DE draft. Idk if we will get one this year

Really like this Hennessey signing.  They definitely needed someone to come off the bench if Jurgens gets injured rather than having your top-paid guard move to center.

As to Saquon, I will really enjoy watching him play this season.  I just hope the higher price tag for an RB doesn't materially water down the defensives FAs we will be able to sign.

$5.4mm cap hit for trading Sweat as opposed to keeping him. Would hope we can get a 3rd for that, and extend Reddick to more than offset the increase in Sweat's cap charge.

It’s entirely possible he’s already been traded but we don’t announce that until it’s official. I remember when we traded for Bradford it was a surprised when FA opened but they had it done for awhile

They should get more than that for him.  He had double digit sacks.  I wonder if it's a player for player deal.
