I’d take the Barkley deal and player over the Henry deal and player. He doesn’t fit here at all.

That’s not a bad deal, but I have a sense that Derek Henry might just be closer to being done next year. Before the week 18 game against Jacksonville, he was averaging 3.9 yards per per carry. He went off against the jags to boost it to 4.2. The jags were terrible down the stretch. There’s a chance he’s closer to what he was the first 16 games (and maybe even worse )he played than what he looked like in week 18.

they wisely gave him just 2 years. Probably wont kill them to get out of it after 1.

Be interesting to see if the Ravens are smarter than everyone else and he still has gas in the tank or can be as effective on lighter duty.

I mean just the attention to Lamar’s legs will still allow him to be an Uber effective RB for sure.

Cowgirls will end up signing Penny

is Lamar Jackson going to be under center all the time now?

I was living in Minneapolis when the Vikings traded for Herschel Walker.  Walker was successful in Dallas running from the I-formation.  The Vikings ran a split back scheme.  It wasn't a productive match.

Yeah that’s why I said it wasn’t a bad deal. I just think  Henry might  regress even more than what he did this year. Before week 18 his yards per carry was 3.9. He was really not great this year. When you watch him, he didn’t look the same as previous years. Maybe it’s Qb and offense but he’s older for a Rb with a ton of miles and had a foot issue recently.

oh I see. Youre saying Henry isnt a good fit in Baltimore.

Speaking of Titans being interested in a Sweat trade- any players there that dont fit what the new coaches want to do?

Yeah that knee injury history that some of this board go on and on about of one major injury in his last year of high school and never missing any games due to knees ever again since recovering from surgery to contribute in his freshman year at college.

People talk about his knee like he should have joined the FBI after college and tried to catch a gang of adventure sports freak bank robbers instead of playing pro football.

Hes still got a bit of a limp and it affects his ability to change direction.

Was more than just your run of the mill knee injury and teams could use his medicals as a source of concern, and i think he has an established enough track record to esse those concerns from teams.

Good another back Dallas can’t sign

Dallas or the Giants will have to settle for Boston Scott soon.

He probably wont see the field much behind Kelce though.

In response to the post, I stated that I don't believe he would be a fit here, in Philadelphia.

I'm indifferent to his fit in Baltimore.

I think we would all do that deal with him over Barkley's deal.

Not all.

Bradberry.

Vangio wants his CBs to cover WRs.

A stat on the PHLY episode today with Wulf and Berman:

Aince 2010 21 total RBs have had 1300 touches or more in their first 6 seasons in the NFL. (Two of the 21 are Barkley and Jacobs). Barkley has had about 1500 touches.

Of the 19 non Barkley and Jacobs RBs(since they haven't played in year 7 yet), there are only 6 total combined seasons of 1,000 rushing yards or more after year 6. And of the 6, 5 of them belong to Derrick Henry, LeSean McCoy, Christian McCaffrey.

When RBs with heavy workloads fall off, they fall off fast.

I mean Titans players they would trade for Sweat.  Titans fired Vrabel so there may be some players the new staff doesn't see as fits.

To answer my own question, Gabriel Davis got 3/39 with 24gtd. Mooney got 3/39 with 26gtd.

That is insane.

Gabriel Davis is an upper tier WR2. Mooney had a good rookie season like 3 years ago and has done nothing since.

I was in on trying Mooney as a WR3 if he was available later on.

He just got paid on production he hasnt shown in years like he is a major contributor on playoff teams.

I thought that was a bit of a bargain for Davis. Its pretty crazy for Mooney.

I really liked mooney but that contract is bonkers...😳

I don’t have the numbers but felt like the chiefs used 2 tight end formations more this year. I know there was an article saying the chiefs started using 13 personnel more down the stretch as well

Eagles aren't getting Queen at that price, nor should they. I'd rather have Baker for 4-5 than Queen for 12-13+. And I don't even think Baker is that great. This is a weak LB market.

My preference might be stealing Lavonte David for a year.

Henry is that.

Last 4 seasons, catching the ball out of the backfield:

Saquon Barkley -- 145 catches in 202 targets (71.8% catch rate), 941 yards (6.49 yards per catch)

Derrick Henry -- 98 catches in 128 targets (76.6% catch rate), 880 yards (8.98 yards per catch)

The case can be made for sure that Derrick Henry has a lot of wear on the tires, and it's a valid question how much he has left.  He's been for sure, by any objective measure though, a much better RB than Saquon Barkley.

$13M per season is just way too much for what Barkley has provided during his career.  I'm hopeful it will turn out to be a good signing, but my best guess is it will turn out to be a bad signing.
