Right? Makes it really hard to just cut him knowing he was actually really good last year. The chargers defense as a whole sucked so it gets lost in it. frankly i don’t think Mike Williams is worth the money he’s making. I’d try to extend Allen to try and bring his cap number down. Gotta just be compliant by 4pm and then can make some other moves or if need be then do things with bosa, Mack

Gotta love this time of year. Fans want Howie to sign everyone, make moves, big splashes, complain the roster isn't set at every position after 3 days of offseason.

Then at the draft: you don't build through free agency like a dream team, you have to build through the draft.

After the draft: the roster sucks, Howie needs to make some moves!

Before the trade deadline: Howie needs to make some trades or the season is lost.

End of season: Howie's trades at the deadline suck, we need those draft picks. You have to build through the draft. These 1 year free agent deals are just band-aids.

Repeat at start of next free agency wanting him to sign all the players and trade draft picks for proven players.

I would have to think they are heavily shopping Keenan Allen.  $11.6 million savings right there.  Some other options would be a small restructure of Herbert to the tune of 5 million.  They could also restructure Derwin James and push out about 10 million.
