He might be the last LB out there that I had on my list.

Agreed. I'm still hoping for Baker but would be ok with Dodson.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

CMC's usage in SF is the farthest thing from limited, he had almost 350 total touches last year (2nd highest amount of rushing attempts and only 8 behind Henry) and was single handedly carrying the team. The way SF uses CMC is more Philosophy 1.

That said, we shouldn't use Barkley like that. SF is incredibly lucky CMC survived the entire season using him the way they did, and I don't think he lasts another season getting that many touches.

They need to find a balance, he should have 15 total touches a game at the very least (equates to 255 total which is very low for what he's being paid). I think having a competent OC in Moore will help a lot, we all make fun of Dallas but he had them playing very well on offense while he was there and we have better players at every skill position and a better line.

It's a tough balance to strike given how much we're paying him, but I'd be okay with something like 17-18 touches per game on avg. Agree that we should try to avoid CMC usage of 21 tpg in that it's rare for a RB to take that level of punishment and not get dinged up or wear down as the season progresses. I'd focus more on having a high floor and low ceiling on his touches week to week more so than the total count overall. I feel like it was a case of feast or famine with Swift which was probably a result of playcalling / game script more than anything.

I did a Twitter search for Tyrel Dodson and didn’t see a single thing linking him to any teams.

Do we think at 4:00 or whenever the Eagles announce their collection of transactions there will be any announced that haven't been leaked yet or are we just going to see all that we know of?

Julian Blackmon would he really intriguing to pair with CJGJ if we’re looking for a coverage safety. He played corner at Utah and has become a really good tackler coming downhill.

I’d be surprised if there was a new signing announced. The agents really want to get that stuff out ASAP.

Lots of safeties still available. Still no word on Simmons either, though if Allbright is correct, it doesn't appear the Eagles have interest. They seem to be shying away from paying older guys this offseason.

I liked Whitehead a lot, but with him gone, Curl, Blackmon, Fuller, others all still available.

He was undrafted so this is probably his agent

Barkley is on what is essentially a 2 year contract. He is 27 years old. We don’t want to extend his contract into his 30’s.

We should absolutely use Barkley as a work horse. It’s the only way this signing makes sense.

I prefer a younger guy too to hedge against Blankenship and Brown, although I think Blankenship is fine, especially given the price. If CJGJ really is the nickel, we need another safety.

Curl would be good

Forgot about him. Still a bunch of options there.

was it Albright last night who said the eagles and Gardner-Johnson werent very close yet then next thing you know a deal was done? Who was that?

Would seem to make practical sense to really nail safety since the LB options are so weak

Some speculation CJGJ could change his number to 3 given his instagram post, which means Nolan Smith could change his number. Would be good, #3 is bad for an edge rusher. He'll never amount to anything wearing #3. If he changes to a number in the 50s, 70s, 90s, suddenly he has a lot more potential.

I don’t know about the fit there next to CJGJ, who is at his best covering slot or coming down toward the box. I’d prefer a guy with single-high skills as needed. That’s Blackmon, to me.

Someone speculated he’d wear zero. I think it was based on him putting a zero for an O in Nolan. Social media sleuthing at its finest.
