Cap wise we should be well north of $25M still. Cash is a different story but unless Simmons is asking for something absurd, money shouldn't be an issue.

I think getting burned by Bradberry last year probably makes Howie reluctant to bet on a 30yr old again beyond a 1 yr deal

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

On the one hand I'd agree on the other you could look at every position on the defense except maybe DT and say there is some type of need there

Sure, but who would that money be spent on other than Smith's contract extension? I don't see a ton of expensive FA left.

We assume they go CB early and find Slay's replacement for next year. But that looks better on paper then last season

By what measurement?  He's a 3rd OT for all intents and purposes.  Basically zero threat in the passing game.   I have zero interest in bringing him back.   I'd much prefer to see them use Alex O, for all of his invisible man experience last year.  He's a threat in the passing game, and I think that Kellen Moore would like to have two possible receiving threats at TE on the field at the same time.

Go time Gentlemen

There's a group of posters who claim he's the best blocking TE in the NFL. Ask them lol
