The most likely outcome is he's another Shaq Leonard.

But like that move, the upside is super high if he can get back to 80% of his old form, even if the chances of that happening are slim.

I don’t think he’s washed like Leonard. He’s just been overrated even at his best, and he’s been exposed for being a straight line player who lacks discipline, instincts and cover skills. He will definitely make some splash plays and can run sideline to sideline.

Sky is not falling.

BUT Id much rather have had 1 solid vet, plus a 2nd day draft pick

Rather than rely on Dean, and a draft pick.

The good thing about the White signing is that it's one-year which means the Eagles should still look to draft a LB too.

I'm not saying either will end up on the final roster, but I'll be surprised if the Eagles don't end up bringing Cunningham and Bradley (assuming he's healthy) back for camp bodies.

White freelances, can’t cover, and is best in an attacking/blitzing scheme. I just don’t see a fit here at all.

CJGJ freelances too, so between the two of them there will be some high variance games.

I hope I’m wrong, but I’m just not loving this FA haul. Not a fan of paying up for a 27-year-old RB, signing Davante Parker to a guaranteed minimum contract, signing CJGJ (unless he really is going to play nickel some).

I really like Huff, Hennessy and Baun.

I'm content with it because I like CJGJ more than most here. Wouldn't say I'm excited, but I'm content. But I'll change from content to disgusted if they cut Sweat or trade him and Reddick for peanuts. This haul + those scenarios = a pretty bad offseason.

Not to mention them not firing SIrianni, which I think is bad too, but that's a whole other discussion.

We got Devin White now stfu about it.

Do you own the boards?

anyone remember what beast's asking price was when White was mentioned at trade deadline last year? I feel like it was something astronimical like a 1st and a 3rd+. Whatever it was, it seems bucs fans still thought he was good.

Yep. And said something like he would get a $100M contract.

Here to see everyone complain about our new 1 year deal LB :D

Apparently White has been one of the five worst graded LBs in each of the last three seasons.

Take that as you will.

Right on cue :D

White represents better upside and a bigger upgrade to the position than Jarvis Landry. So there's that...

Fangio tends to rush four but which of the LBs is the four is part of his scheme.   Does rush from the ILB position.

Imagine, White could be coming up the middle. Baun could be coming off the edge. Plus our DL talent. Could be tough for defenses to figure.

Heres a name. I may have posted about him in here, or maybe just made a thread in IWTETG. Considering it (unfortunately) sounds like we may still use Baun off ball, I suspect the eagles may end up acutally liking this guy more than I thought.

Nathaniel Watson, of Mississippi State lead the SEC in tackles, and Sacks. Which earned him SEC Defensive Player of the Year honors.

He projects as a late rounder. You dont want him in coverage. Bit of a throwback style who will stack and shed and stuff the run playing down hill.

But the guy had 10 sacks, and 137 tackles last year.

If we want awesome pass rushers playing off ball LB this guy can be a main target for one of our 6th round picks.

Little concerned that you don't understand what "complaining" actually entails.

yep. Cunningham and White can be the vets. Dean and a draft pick to compete.

If Dean finally succeeds, you can have him and the draft pick next year.

If White pops, you can extend him, and move on from Dean.

Some optionality, and upside.

I wasnt even thinking White was washed at that point and thought the valuation was crazy. I was thinking 3rd round pick. And I remember beast saying something way higher.

So.... maybe things changed later in the season? But I like to know there was a positive opinion of him from someone who watches Bucs games.

That's the kind of leadership this team desperately needs.

If he quit on them then he will fit right in

Well, he was close on that one.   Just missed by $92+M.

Devin White can absolutely fly so even if he lost a step he’d still have a step on most. He’s like 27 at most though so not sure how he would have been cooked already. His physical skill set it perfect IMO.

He’s been ass against the run recently but hopefully Vic has a plan for him.

What's his RAS :D @Random Reglar

I recall Solak discussing the Fangio hire and said something along the lines that Fangio was able to get the most out of Jerome Baker because he blitzed him quite a bit. That’s Fangio adjusting to his players, but I assumed he did it out of necessity and not preference. Maybe liked having a good blitzer up the middle?

He’s been overrated for years, and I’ve been saying it in here for just as long.

I think he said White and Ridley would combine for $100M, so he nailed it!

He may have been but the other 4 were probably Eagles (last year) - at least from the eye test

I really hope this doesn’t mean goodbye Edgerrin Cooper Eagles won’t draft you now

That's exactly what this means. Here's their answer at LB "we addressed the position in the way we thought best utilized our resources so we could draft a backup OT and more DL depth"

I feel like White would fit better with Macdonald in Seattle than here. And Dodson, based on just being smart, would fit better in a Fangio scheme.
