The sad part is they'll win enough to get into the playoffs but probably get their doors blown off in the first round just like the eagles did.

I disagree. The Flyers might not win, but they will be a tough out for whoever they play. Tortorella actually has a system of accountability, structure, and discipline. Basically, the total opposite of Sirianni.

  • For those that know me here I wanted to pass on the good news. I will be retiring from fulltime work in October of this year. Looking forward to not working 10 hour days anymore.

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Thinking of co-coordinators, I remember we met with Jim Leonhard last year but I think he had some health issues.

What is he up to these days? Was always a fan of his style at Wisconsin - and would love to see him bring his attacking D to Philly

Not sure if this is reliable. Equally unclear, if this man is actively having a stroke while giving this report.

It’s Dan Sileo. He makes Howard Eskin seem credible.

He also may or may not be having a neurological event 🤷‍♂️

That's the exact opposite of what was reported previously. Interesting. Wouldn't be shocked if Howie didn't call, he doesn't pay linebackers

Exactly. Didn't matter then, doesn't matter now. Although I will say I don't remember as many people being on board with firing pederson as there are with sirianni right now. But I have awful memory so maybe there were

Not even close.  As a matter of fact, pretty sure 60-70%+ of fans wanted to keep Pederson.   The general consensus was "he deserves/earned one more year”.  It was pretty shocking when he was let go to most.

Howie doesn’t pay LB’s so he gave the money to Bradberry instead.

Someone is lying

It’s looking more and more like Howie has his fingerprints all over this disaster. Making all the wrong moves re: defensive personnel and being responsible for the DC debacle.

That could be the thing that saves Nick.  If Howie is the guilty party.

He would've been minorly better than what we had this year (especially from a health standpoint) but not someone I'd want to start long term in the middle. Even with elite DL play in front of him last year he still managed to make really zero impact plays. Hopefully we can get an actual difference maker there with a better scheme.

Edit: I realized that TJ signed with the Bears before the whole CGJ debacle was over so that could probably explain some of it.

They did destroy that man's knee and career though. Damn shame really.

And to think they didn't just get him but they are getting Florida's first round pick over the summer.

Yeah that first was the best asset in the trade the Flyers could hope for. Many assumed Tippett was merely a roster dump, but boy are things looking up.

Even if he is, it doesn't seem like Jeff would hold him accountable

Edwards was the first free agent to sign on the very first hour of FA.  He signed in his home town for a team that overpaid because they needed to get to the cap floor

It’s obvious. That’s why i think Howie could be on the hot seat himself. I was a Howie supporter for years. I’m not anymore. The only reason he is still around is because we won a Super Bowl despite of him.

Howie could have talked to him before that.  Apparently he didn’t.

that is incorrect.

If you watched those early games and thought this team was good idk what to tell you. The cracks were there at the very beginning, mostly on defense at first, and as the weeks went on the offense looked worse.

The team wasn’t as good we and lots of people expected them to be, but they surely weren’t horrible/ atrocious like they were after the SF beatdown.

i think that SF game did more damage than we may think. It literally broke the team IMO. SF came to Philly and smacked the "bully” in the mouth. The rest of the NFL saw it and just kept doing the same.

I didn't say they were atrocious, I said they weren't good. They weren't, they were average to mediocre early on and only got worse

He was a former top 10 pick who just couldn't find his way in Florida and has flourished with a change of scenery. He's the type of guy the Flyers usually trade away for a rental, in this case they were the ones to reap the rewards.

Fair enough, you didn’t say atrocious.

Idk but mediocre seems way overblown. They didn’t win 10 games just due to luck. They beat some quality teams and even if you say that the other teams "lost” instead of the Eagles winning, then they still did enough during the game to win. It’s not like they got all the lucky bounces etc. during the entire game to let them squeak out a win. They weren’t good compared to last year’s standard, but the way they fell of the cliff is just mind boggling…🤷

Idk not once in their 10 wins did I come away thinking "wow this team is good", most of the time it was "wow got lucky again" or "why are we struggling against mediocre teams like Washington and New England". And the answer at that point was "it's early in the season, a win is a win". And then finally the levee broke and they got their ish pushed in through their mouths for 2 months
