Not a great signing in my opinion.  Down here in the Tampa area, nobody is clutching hankies with him leaving.  TB preferred to give 34 year old Lavonte David a potential $10 million 1 year deal than resign White.  White missed assignments,  out of position, complained about $, only played 14 snaps in their final playoff game a couple months ago.  He is a reclamation project.  Don't have high hopes.  Classic case of starting career strong then taking a nosedive.  Don't know if he doesn't prepare, or ignores coaching, but he was really good his first two seasons then not good and a headache for the team the past 3 seasons.

Philly media gonna uncover a lot this summer, I think. White's a confounding case. He was thought to have off the charts character coming into the league. How does that change so dramatically, especially coming off that 2020 season?

There's a chance this is a great move. Dude is like 7 months older than Landon Dickerson. No major injuries. Malcolm Jenkins had a similar profile when he signed years ago, although it's not exactly 1:1.

Hoping for the best, expecting somewhere in the middle, startable but often frustrating. Weird fit with Fangio.

Many scouting reports weren't nearly as high on CMC coming out of college as you may think. There were a lot of questions about his play strength, whether he was a product of his OL, etc.

I'm not agreeing with HE, but I get what he's saying.

Any back that's just above 200 lbs is going to get that concern. Will Shipley isn't even in the same ball park. Top 10 pick. Eagles would have certainly grabbed him if he stuck around. 1st Round prospect no matter the questions.

I don't think you understand what it is HE is saying, then.

You’re in the Tampa area?  Nice.   Ever been to Tampa Joe’s/Philly of the South Eagles fan club?  Great spot/good atmosphere for Eagles games, imo. 👍👍

I haven't.   I'm about an hour south of Tampa.  I will check it out this coming season.  Where is it in Tampa?  Are you down here?

He was great in 2020.  They were talking all-time great potential.

all 3 are built like running backs.  Deebo, Legette, Brown,  smallest to biggest.  I would want the Eagles to take him in the 2nd.   I don't see the point of a OL until day 3.  CB is a bigger need,  but the Eagles have 1) Hurts 2) Brown 3) Smith 4) Goedert 5) Barkley and 6) would be who exactly?  I like the idea of the Eagles doing a whole bunch of fun things,  versatile,  so they might as well just keep that whole position open so it would be easy to do that versatile freakbeast stuff.  sounds great to me.  but last year there was a lot of Quez and almost no versatile freakbeast stuff out of that WR3/TE2 spot.  Legette it seems to be could be that 6) Legette.   221 and 4.39.   That sounds good.

You could put Nolan Smith and Ben VanSumeren in at a WR position.  But I don't think that having Legette on the Eagles would be the thing that keeps Smith and VanSumeren from getting snaps at the WR position or the extra RB position or the FB position or whatever position those players would be playing,

You know what the thing is that keeps Eagles coaches from playing Nolan Smith or Ben VanSumeren at WR? The fact that they only have two copies of chromosome 21.

Maybe it means nothing but the Eagles list CJGJ as a corner on the app.

He was always technically a slot CB, we and Det just lined him up in safety formations. It’s like when Haason Reddick is listed as LB; I wouldn’t read too much into it

Most had him going first round or early second though. Shipley is all over the place but few of the big scouting networks have him with a first round grade.

I’m in the Orlando area but have met up with friends/family down there for the occasional game over the years.  It’s hosted by Philly of the South Eagles fan club. They basically take over the entire bar/restaurant during game days - decent sized place as well.  There’s usually raffle giveaways, food specials etc.  A few times a year they’ll have former Eagles players signing autographs etc.  I think Hollis Thomas has been there a few times.

Rams quietly establishing themselves once again in the NFC. Howie should sign Simmons and then trade for an established LB. Move up for a top CB and draft a LB in round 2, then I'd feel pretty good.

Can't say I like Tampa even a little bit. They've covered the whole area in cement. For anyone who has read the Travis McGee novels, this is what John D. MacDonald was bemoaning.

The whole area is overun with people, cars, cement, housing.  We'll be moving in a couple years to get out of here.  The beaches where I live are divine, love all the wildlife, but there are other places in the world with great beaches and nicer people.

Absolutely. I don't think Shipley projects to be as good.

That said the flexibility, mobility, catching, speed, etc is all there. Definitely needs to work on his strength and his vision can get lost a bit when he lowers his head.

If he learns to play with that same strength at the next level, there are certainly more similarities between the two.

Whether he does or not remains to be seen.

lol... you must be trolling at this point. There isn't a RB in this draft that comes close to CMC as a prospect. Again damn sure not Will Shipley. Elusiveness, contact balance, vision, receiving ability were off the charts and he translated it to the NFL. Shipley will be lucky if he goes in the 3rd or 4th round.

Yeah, thats where Shipley is projected. But youre not remembering McCaffrey very well.

I'm not agreeing with HE, but I get what he's saying.

Also, the McCaffrey in the top 10 buzz came very, very late in the process and it was a shock to pretty much everyone. Nobody had him ranked as a top 10 prospect.

He wasnt big enough. Only 205 isnt enough to hold up as an every down back. He wasnt that elusive. He made big plays busting through big holes. He looked like an exceptional receiving back who could line up at WR as well. And a big play runner. But not a workhorse RB. AND he already had a ton of miles on him from his college career. Heavy, heavy usage.

His weaknesses are basically the same as Shipley. However, Shipley is actually faster, and slightly bigger.

It was reported at the time that the Eagles wanted CMC at 14 in 2017. He was always going top 15.

correct.

I said in the same mold.  I never said they were just as good and Shipley belongs being drafted in the top 10, or 1st round even.

McCaffrey was a more productive college player. He turned in to something else entirely in the NFL. Even better.

Shipley has the exact same skillset, and more athleticism. With development, you can really have something special there too.

I havent seen Shipley with a 1st round grade yet. Interesting.

Any videos Ive watched talking about the RB class fail to even mention him when going through like 10 other names, which is absolutely crazy to me. We hear about Bucky Irving and other 1 dimensional slow power runners. Not a dynamic guy with a christian mccaffrey skillset?

I have seen him go fairly early, like 2nd-3rd round in mock draft simulators. But not in anyone's actual mock draft.

In projections, Ive seen him slated for the 5th round. Ridiculous.

IMO- hes worthy of a round 2 selection.
