New England at 3 is ideal trade partner if they are willing to move back to 11. They apparently are willing to trade out of 3 if Daniels isn’t there. However been some rumors on twitter they might trade for fields and then just draft Marvin Harrison jr. Which likely makes the cardinals at 4 a trade partner.

If Minnesota could end up with Daniels at 4 or 5 that’d be a coup

Ok I love the Barkley deal

Are there going to be like 6 QBs drafted before the Eagles pick?

Signing a LB? Great, White can't be any worse than Morrow, can he? It's a low bar and the overall coaching should be a lot better this year.

The wider issue is the rental deal mentality, but at least there is a warm body there who has played games in the NFL. Still a lot more to to do a LB though. And S

Anytime I see Jack Stoll's name I want to call him Jack Stool.

Now I can.....

You've been sitting on that one for a while, eh?

If Daniels is at 3 then i think NE is taking him. Been out there they want him but there’s a possibility he’s going to go no. 2 or the commanders

I wonder if Howie got that offer.

I wouldn't have done that, pretty far to trade back and it doesn't seem like the haul is all that great.

Also possible Minnesota is the team NE trades with to move down. But I cannot fathom any team trade down with MHJ on the board. Hes IMO the most sure thing prospect since the 90’s

I am ok with taking the flier under Fangio, but he shouldn't have been the only veteran acquisition.
I am still holding out hope for a LB trade but I think it's wishful thinking. I do think, we will be drafting a LB on day 2 however, that is also possibly wishful thinking but my gut is telling me that's what they do... And no it's not gas.

So glad we signed this guy.  I've heard nothing but doom & gloom.

Still, he's probably an upgrade over what we had last season.  Maybe Fangio thinks he could be a good reclamation project?

Depends on how teams view Penix and Nix

That's what you get for looks $2.5m guaranteed. Not going to change the world, but can do something well. But will need some who can tackle around him.  Perhaps having a Fangio barking at him may make it work, or he'll be a Steeler next year because they love signing washed out LBs

Seems like a loss on the value chart. Weird move by the Texans to do it today and not get any sweetener.

New England makes the most sense if they aren’t in love with McCarthy or Maye. Why take a Qb at 3 you aren’t in love with. Better off either taking MHJ or stockpiling a boatload of picks like bears did last year. Mentioned before there’s some rumors they might deal for Justin fields and draft MHJ. If fields fails likely picking high again next year then you can use some of the capital to move up to get the Qb you want. Frankly i know of MHJ is on the board at 4 the cardinals are gonna take him

Carton becoming the new skip!!!

I didn't see the picks involved listed in this thread so JIC:

The AFC South champions sent the 23rd overall and 232nd overall picks to the Vikings. In exchange, the Texans receive the 42nd and 188th overall picks this year.

If that's correct, that's insanely good value for the Vikings.

Edit:  Ok, there is a 2025 2nd round pick involved going to the Texans.  That makes a LOT more sense

I would be ok with this if they brought in someone with a bit of promise.  LB market was thin, I understand that but almost anyone we could’ve targeted would have been better than what we had, except for White.  Talent is great, but this is a bad move in my opinion if the intent is for White to be your alpha linebacker.  Maybe something great is cooking.  I hope so.

Yeah, teams have drafted much worse QB prospects high in the first on many occasions so I wouldn't be surprised

I hope Jerry lives until he's 120 and never sells the team.  I love having a division with some of the worst owners in sports.  Already lost Snyder.  Can't lose another.

Yeah, thats where Shipley is projected. But youre not remembering McCaffrey very well.

I'm absolutely certain CMC was not considered a 3rd or 4th round pick. I'm absolutely certain he was considered a minimum bottom of the 1st round at the least. That's why the Eagles were hopeful to possibly grab him.

Yeah, moving back from 23 got them a 2nd next year.

problem is the cap, if we hit alot of players in the draft, we probably would have gotten a better player but because we have so many needs, we have to be careful on how we spend, the last thing we need is going into the draft with a ton of holes and the players in the draft that we want dont fall to us.

Yup, just corrected myself.  The original snippet I saw didn't include the 2025 pick.

I was actually jealous of the Vikings for a second there

Yup. I'd say 4 is a fairly safe estimate. Up to 6. If I had to guess I'd say probably 5.

I don't think you understand what it is HE is saying, then.

I understand that he's comparing a 1st RD prospect in CMC to a 3rd or 4th rd prospect in Will Shipley who has had no where near the success that CMC had.
