Howie was tampering during the tampering period.

Zero LBs. Clearly its an organizational philosophy for decades ...not to spend on LB. Clearly there has always been money for that, but it's just a choice not to spend. Clearly Ham doesn't want to see this obvious thing.

But 13 mil all guaranteed and all comes right off that year’s cap. That part is just brutal thoughts for Rosie to even consider: paying for a guy on the cap during the season he’s actually playing to earn it. 5th year option for Smith would cost...$15.59 mil....all counting against the cap... would be totally stupid to have to pay that and take the cap hit for one year... especially with a rolling cap. That would be a Dallas move... like paying Pollard the $10+ mil tag...and then losing him the next year... never getting that cap space back.
March 14, 20241 yr Taking a huge one year cap hit on a tag or a 5th year option is the worst move when it comes to managing a cap. Think about it... there are 2 scenarios that follow. 1. The player walks, and you never get the cap space back ( see Dallas) 2. The player stays, buy now you have to pay him according to the following year's pay scale. Plus you can't use the cheap 4th year or even the 5th year in the signing bonus split...those 2 things increase the cap hit by a large amount.
March 14, 20241 yr Think about having a cap hit of $15.59 for Smith and then completely starting over a new contract with 2026 WR numbers? And having the player in the mindset of not giving any early or home team discount because you put him at injury risk by making him wait! Completely stupid from both a cap management and relationship standpoint. Absolutely brutal way to run a business!
March 14, 20241 yr When the numbers are put on these cap websites... let's compare Dickerson to the guard in Carolina who just got paid. Watch how different the cap hits are going to look. Then think about which player you would prefer to have if the cap hits were identical!

All being smoke to cover for the fire of actually needing to move Sweat instead. The Sweat trade I’ve believed has been the real goal all along. Just the games Rosie has played to try and accomplish the trade. Trading away Reddick just doesn’t really add up much for me. He’s just such a quality player to need to sacrifice. If cap money isn’t in a dire situation? You keep players like Reddick. Dude...have you paid attention to the cap numbers? Why do you keep being ignorant? The cap is more than fine...the issue is their choice of players and how they want to build the roster. They could easily pay a LB. Just like Dream Team year when your boy said we have a defense built to play with a lead...lol. Sweat needs to go...was brutal last year, especially when the competition got legit. Doesn't really fit in a 3-4 scheme either. Reddick they shouldn't bid against themselves and overpay. I assume there will be a trade of Sweat with a restructure of Reddick... or maybe trade both for a player that is considered better? Like an elite CB in Denver.

March 14, 20241 yr Tyrel Dodson: The Bills' loss of Tremaine Edmunds last season and an injury to Matt Milano forced Dodson into the lineup, and he played well, collecting 74 tackles (8 for loss), 2.5 sacks, 6 QB hits, a FF, and a couple of pass breakups while only playing 51 percent of the Bills' snaps. Also, grain of salt and whatnot, but he had stellar grades from PFF as both a run defender and in coverage. He's still only 25 years old and could be an ascending player. Could be an interesting FA option for us to add to our LB room definitely has room for growth and should come cheap…. While also showing he can play at a pretty decent level already

March 14, 20241 yr We might lose a draft pick here fellas. It’s all BS though. We all know these GMs are working things before it’s legal. They even created a whole "legal tampering period” recognizing this fact. Same old stuff different decade. They probably gave us nailed if they so choose to make a stink about it. But it would really just highlight something the whole league is engaged in. Something they really will never be able to fix. GMs and agents are going to communicate.

Can keep such a quality player like Reddick or we can’t. Time will tell here. Sweat has been better than an average DE. We will be playing in Nickel and Dime most of the time. Short yardage personnel and Goaline D too. These are all packages you’d want Sweat for. No idea how you came up with Sweat has to go? Heck of a player. Coaches were a disaster last year. We went from a near historic pace of sacks the year before down to what happened this past season. It wasn’t just Sweat sucks for sure. He’s a heck of a player. Like 26 years old too!

March 14, 20241 yr The knock on Sweat is he's not good vs the run, his cap hit vs others in the room and won't fit in the new system. I like him otherwise
