February 3Feb 3 Have to wonder what the plan is for Vic now sounds like this could realistically be his last season as our DC likely to retire. Reports said we talked with Gannon(now in GB) and even Schwartz if Vic planned to retire this offseason.Have to wonder if we still try and add Schwartz to the staff as like D consultant or something for a year then he takes over as DC when Vic retires.In house candidates could be Hurtt our DL coach maybe Kasper our DB coach I know Vic is really high on him.

I thought he did a great job with the scraps Howie threw him. Fangio showed him what a great defense can do and now that Howie broke the mold and will take DB's early, I think Schwartz would be fine. Fangio is a great one

But even with an upgrade at G needed we have to add an OT Lane is likely to retire soon and tends to miss time WR- really will come down to what we do with AJ Brown TE- right now don’t think we have anyone under contract would think Geodart gets another year but we need a new long term replacement.Edge- do we resign Phillips? Is Graham retiring again? We are thin on the edges

Howie will move up down to get the guys he wants, we also need to look at QB2 if McKee is traded. Hurts lack of trying really ticks me off, so I would have NP with a nicely placed QB in the draft. AJ is a huge ? as we all know. The question is who do we take in round 1. Not that the rest aren't as important. There are a bevy of guys at those spots of need all around where we pick. Love to keep Phillips, he loves playing here. Like Becton he had a rebirth of his career. In the draft we have guys like Terrell at CB, Sadiq at TE, Ioane, the G from PSU, there are edges and OT's there also. My personal thoughts after scanning this draft class is hit the O line, that has always been our key to success. As you pointed out alot depends on AJ and what happens with Becton, because Ioane at G would be my priority if Becton is not coming back. I love the HUGE OT Proctor, even if we took him first I feel he needs work. He is a HUGE OT. I want to see how he moves at the combine. So much is up in the air. We just have to wait and see what moves Howie makes. Yes, very interesting indeed
