He ran a 4.4 by comparison Reed Blankenship ran a 4.5… Could being a rookie and confused by what exactly he was being asked to do have effected his playing speed having to hesitate and think about stuff…

He looked plenty fast enough on that 99 yard return and some other plays this season.

Ham just trying to do the slow build up of Howie making a bad pick.    The long slow torture route for us...  just say Dax, Hamilton or the other guy..then move on.   But here come the multiple post buildup to that... fire Howie...etc.

Really when you look at this Eagles defense you can make the case the only real young player we have is Carter.

Blankenship maybe but how often was this guy getting hurt can we even truly rely on him? Sweat is solid end wouldnt say he is a great end

We have some good older guys Reddick but he is over 30 already.

Davis has been a disappointment

We do have some other young guys that maybe make strides.

Can we get Davis to play at a high level for an entire season?

Can dean stay healthy and be the Lb he was at Georgia?

Smith our other 1st rounder can he develop into another edge rusher that we need?

Ringo/Ricks the other young CBs- do any of these guys step up and fill a spot

Brown- he is coming off an ACL so his development could be stunted that is the one accurate take I’ll give ham.

I do hope who ever our next DC is they will actually use the blitz lol 😂 I get it we want to get pressure with 4 guys when we can but damn blitzing is a great tool to use especially when we aren’t getting pressure with 4 guys

I’m a big fan of Milton

Ringo looks legit to me

And the blitzing we did actually try was delayed blitzing from guys coming from way too far away

I did prefer other S. But been trying to believe in Sidney based on his strong intangibles. He’ll never be on a level with Hamilton.

Hamilton was the pick we missed on to take Davis though. Nothing really to do with Sidney.

I'm trying the same with Hurts.  As are the rest of us.

Everything to do with Sidney... the subliminal fire Howie idea has to be... he messed up by missing Hamilton so he had to waste the pick on Brown.

We get it.

Brown absolutely moved well enough...once he figured out where to move.

He drafts Dline instead of S. There were other S choices than just Sidney. I still don’t see Sidney as a wasted pick. But Hamilton is a very good player. Davis hasn’t looked like a very good player. I prefer drafting good players regardless of positional philosophies creating such a hierarchy.

Didn’t look that fast trailing on pass coverage all season.

Because our coaching put them in position to succeed the play calling switch was huge for helping a rookie player lol come on now.

PFF even graded probably as a quality backup at a 62 as a rookie compared to Blankenship who only got a 73.

not like anyone is saying Brown was a world class top tier S but as a young player he showed promise and should improve can definitely be a starting caliber S in this league in my opinion

Right....back when they drafted Mamula instead of Sapp...  we need to bring that up more.

Why was he trailing in your opinion?

From what I saw there was no comparison. Blankenship was a quality DB for us this season. Best one we had.

Two seasons ago…yeah real ancient history

The coaching wasn’t great. But can think of several occasions he personally just screwed up. He wasn’t some top ten rookie. So it’s to be expected I would think. Heck Jordan Davis was top ten and I’m still trying to be optimistic about him improving enough to look worth it.

Your comment originally was directed at his speed.   Which is more than fine.  The other stuff is just that...other stuff.

Ham what do you think of all the stuff coming out about Hurts.   You read any yet...or just choosing to ignore?

We looked pretty darn good in Kelly Green!

Yeah he really didn’t look like a 4.4 speed guy. I don’t recall his combine time as I was higher on others over him. He made some plays this year. Made a splash as a rook.
