nobody is saying the secondary doesn't need to pick it up, just pointing out that this week should not be a tougher test.

KC doesn't have a WR anywhere close to Lamb

At least your first instinct is to say Mahomes. The guy that makes the offense there.. not any " great O mind"

I picked up Pittman in fantasy. I had a slot open after moving Aiyuk to IR. Only 1 game but him and Daniels were connecting well. I have 3 good RB's on my roster but could use another "insurance" RB. waiting a few games to see who sorts out. The rookie #2 for Jax is on the board(Tuten), so he could be a possibility after they traded Tank to us

Picked up Rodger’s in my league debating if I want to grab Calvin Austin to pair with him

That was my original post ...lol. that there was no script Thursday. It's been discussion on local radio today....the script vs no script...Any internal discipline for Carter... Adam Shefter was on, he makes a regular guest appearance each week... discussed how Tank was originally part of the Fred Johnson trade.

You won't hear as much unless you arr able to go online or use Siri or Alexa... and go to 97.5 " the fanatic" or 94.1 W.I.P. Sports radio.

24 hour sports talk. All the Eagles insiders have spots on these stations including Siri each week.

I was back in Philly for 9 days two weeks ago. I don’t know which was a bigger wasteland WIP or the Fan. 90% drivel. Only 10% real meat.

Think it's really not a good assessment at all.

What did you disagree with?

Think the DL is fairly simple to break down

Orjomo/Carter are your DEs with Smith and Young behind them

Davis is your NT going to be on the field on the early downs to stop the run

Early downs Orjomo/Davis/Carter to focus on stopping the run… Smith/Carter/Young trio to get after the QB… Carter gets moved around to get the best matchup

How do you fit all of those players on the field in Fangio’s 4-2-5 base set?

Such a Secondary test to face this week. Guys going to need to pull things together something quick.

Help me understand that take Ham. Who are the WRs who are going to be a big test for the Secondary?

Rice is out and Worthy is either gimpy or out.

Sure... except from the math.. 3-4 means only 4 left to fill out the 11.... DeJean being your stud slot CB/ Nickel... it either moves him outside or takes him off the field.

I totally get the 3-4 idea.... just pointing out that we play a 4 man front more often than not...and Davis is more so a starting DT.

With that said... one should be able to understand where guys like Hall and Booker...theoretically back up NTs...have little value in a system that mostly plays 4 man front.

And also... once Dean comes back... the probability of straight up 4-3...with DeJean on the outside...probably increases.

Which leaves even less of 3-4 and Ojomo as a starter

Agreed 100%. If you are going to put the two OLBs in the second level, it is a 2-4 front.

IDK especially with Worthy as a game time decision

Even if he plays, he will be gimpy.

Well our base D is consider a 3-4 but Joe was correct should have based it more on what we are in primarily

Our base D is a 3-4? Our base D is Nickel … 4-2-5 by the numbers.

IMG_4301.png

3 DT 2 Edges 2 ILB by definition our base D is a 3-4 defense…. I admitted I was wrong in taking the technical base defense look and not using what we are mostly in…. But we are still considered a 3-4 team

IMG_4302.png

From last year but works the same base D 3 down linemen, 4 LBs( 2 ILB 2 Edges) 3-4 defense

Yeah... when topics are slow not as good....even brutal to listen. For me, I get used the the routines...background noise...short car rides etc. So I know the scheduled times to listen when they actually have guests and interviews etc.

The opinion part where the hosts just talk to callers is annoying. The shift changes and when they announce the times the guests come on...that's when to listen. 10am. 2pm, 6pm..

6pm best insider Andrew D, knows the Eagles well. Calm and explains a lot.

But agree...to actually spend a lot of time listening to the brutal conversations is a waste.

But for certain interviews and guests...very informative.

Mukuba and Adorre blew some plays…flat out. I don’t think Jackson is going to really get it together. Really hoping Mukuba steps things up at a pace I totally believe he can. He’ll make some mistakes…but at least counter with making some plays as well. As he starts rounding into form…geling with the entire Secondary.

Great assessment of our D-Line. Thoughts?

Ok...what i disagree with...

  1. Everything that was said about Tank...but that's not your post that was about the D, just that this post about Tank...worse than any planet Ham take.

  2. Ojomo is not a DE. He is a DT.

  3. Smith as a 276 DE...is not taking the place of Hall...who you would say is an inside guy.

The only thing he got right was that Ojomo plays inside ( not at times...all the time)

A DE,OLB...or edge...they go against the offensive tackles.

Ojomo will play vs the guards and center.

Now my high school played 3-4... so I understand some terminology could be one NT and the two guys next to him on either side as a DE with the edges as OLBs.

That's not what we run here, regardless of how anyone wants to classify Nolan Smith or Hunt.

The norm is the 4-2-5.... two LBs are Baun and Campbell... the other guys are DL ...that's the reality of how they function. 4 guys on the DL...2 LBs... and they move DeJean and the SS around.

Im not going to argue technicalities etc. Bottom line that's simple...the new edge rusher is not replacing Hall...via position... regardless of he takes his roster spots.

Young and Ty Robinson are DTs...not ends. They will function as DTs in a front 4. Same as Carter, Davis and Ojomo. The new guy along with Hunt and Smith function as DEs in a front 4.

There will be times when the line will function as a 5 man line... there will be times when Smith and Hunt drop back so that Campbell and Baun can rush ... but lets not overcomplicate the simple.
