I can’t disagree about The timing routes needing to get worked out. Just practice practice practice. Shouldn’t really need a coach even for that…so Hurts should be able to overcome that obstacle. Thing is…Siri never incorporated timing routes pretty much at all. Unstoppable O no matter how good the coverage is. Pass rush negating also. But it’s really pretty much all new and being figured out…very sadly.

Gotta correct your huge error on Hurts. He practically made a living on deep balls outside. Last season Siri dialed all that stuff back. Super overcorrection by Siri because in 2023 the buy extra time so AJ and Smitty could get open deep was the entire passing playbook.

Last season and others we really had that identity of our massive athletic Oline will wear down any opponent. First quarter worst scoring team in the league. Second half took advantage. We don’t possess this advantage this season. Maybe at the end we will put it together.

Gotta get Shipley involved with these and other contributions. Replying to Cook post about Barkley…he doesn’t have great hands. Doesn’t run much of any routes. But if you get the ball in that guys hands at his best? Watch out!!

My opinion is I hated to see the Siri influence last season on Hurts pretty much our HC teaching to be gunshy practically to our franchise QB

You can’t coach don’t throw interceptions. That’s not coaching. Coaching and scheme is teaching where to go with the ball as the right decisions.

Good film this week for the QB to learn from. He usually responds well after these types of bad performances. Pittsburgh last year was probably his best game of the season after that debacle vs Carolina.

You didn't see the video from Acho??? You said that you did. He pointed out very clearly where a good QB can't miss Smith or AJ in those situations. The conversation was where it was proof that Hurts isn't elite as a passer. It is what it is... I think people forget that nobody plays well every game in the NFL. Every QB struggles at some point.

Quality tackling was a huge plus from this team in games 1-4, and even in game 5. So much so that the network broadcast commentators/announcers went out of their way to point it out. So Thursday’s poor tackling game was an anomaly … especially for Zack Baun. Everything about the game was a shitshow. Hopefully the Vikings game will be a return to past form.

Agreed. But the execution by Hurts in 2024 on deep ball accuracy is almost 100% different than Hurts deep ball accuracy this season so far. He is clearly capable. He just isn’t executing well this season.

Siri deemed that strategy too risky. He drilled into Hurts head to hesitate and not take chances like that.

Every QB every game misses much more open targets than that. That’s just part of the game. But obviously we are a work in progress. You just want to not develop these passing concepts….then flip the switch and just start only throwing. Things need to be ironed out. Let’s start with how our team came out of TC this season. A nice way to describe our coaching this PS would be….way behind what was needed. Then we don’t really get but very limited opportunities to actually do these things in live game action. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Hurts did call the blocking very correctly to handle that blitz. Which this is only his second season calling the blocking.
