Welp.I don't really like playing "what if" If AJ goes there is zero way to know if Doubs would come here, or ANY "veteran" and even if he did like I said we have a weak WR room, so if AJ goes WR would priority over TE. Your alternative is trading a high pick for him or any "vet" which defeats the purpose unless a guy like Doubs really wants out like AJ does(maybe he does but I can't follow every teams gripes). So I draft my future. Fill in later like Howie does. WR;s now, at least the higher picks are or near "NFL ready". Look at how the top WR's have fared after being drafted. Smitty, Smith-Njigba, I mean you know Carnell Tate is going to succeed out of the gate. WR's get big heads then teams dump them off because the young kids aren't Prima Donnas yet for 4-5 years LOL. I don't need to trade 1 Prima Donna for another. I would rather play kids that are hungry to become those Prima Donnas. Just have a different view of building a team. Already said I want to hit the O line many times. Just would need to hit the right WR. not another Reagor LOL

Losing Stoutland could affect Bectons return, since it was Stout that "resurrected" his career. Losing Stout still makes me mad as hell. BTW I also disagree with Kempski when he says there are alot of good TE/s on this draft. There are not. There are some late role players, but totally ZERO I would spend a 1 pick on, so I don't know what's in his water as he totally ignores the needs on the O line

Likely is a FA, they would have to franchise him then trade him and I wouldn't spend that much money on him.

Welp since there are no TE's worth taking to replace Goedert, what move do you make? What is the cost of NOT having a TE? Even if Goedert is re signed who do we have if he goes down?

Free agency before the draft we literally always sign free agents for the roster before drafting plus everyone drafts for the future.

My draft is for the future I’m just not prioritizing WR first to me that is on the back burner reinforcements on the OL/DL are why higher priority to me…. And yes I’d take a TE over a WR first as well since they are a huge part of that Shanahan tree that Mannion is coming from just look at Kittle in SF or Kraft in GB

Getting Doubs or not getting Doubs wouldn’t alter my draft approach though

It’s your opinion on the TEs guess George Kittle was only a role playing TE as well as a 5th rounder or Kelce as a 3rd, Tucker as a 3rd and so many other guys

Sure "what if" because he could be gone BEFORE the draft. "what if" we keep him and his pass dropping continues? Like I said we differ on what the priorities are. Even WITH AJ our WR is weak. If you don't have a TE,you lose the TE production. If you lose WR1 you lose pretty much both WR's as now Smitty would be double teamed. without any threat from the other side. I was a TE and I should be biased towards them. Wonder why I'm not. Hmmm. First I'm going to wait and see if AJ stays, then I'm going to see if Goedert stays, then I will go from there, but in this draft there are ZERO TE's that will scare anyone. There are however WR's teams would have to account for. Show me a complete TE that is NFL ready in the draft, then maybe I could agree with you. Until they, I cannot

Should we compare top WR's rookie years against TE's? Any Kelces in this draft you can get in round 5? I don't see one in round 1. I can pick out guys that worked out too. I don't really have the time,but I can if you want. Yards and TD's who has the better stats as a rookie a WR or a TE?

No obsession, just a need for a well rounded team, that starts with a QB a RB and WR's on both ends(assuming you have an O line), then I worry about TE and lastly the slot

LOL I said many times before we differ if you'd go back and read my posts. We both want what's best for the team. Let's see what Howie wants to do. It's not up to us and I can agree with that
