Would be nice if we got picks for this draft out of AJ. But would seem obvious after June 1 trade would be our route. So looking toward the future.

Davis played 2025 for $5.4

Playing 2026 for 12.9.

18.3 mil combined... then he gets paid the same $26 mil per for 2027, 2028 and 2029.

Davis... from 2025 -2029 = 96.3 mil

Williams.. from 2025-2028 = 104 mil

On the radio today.....the report is Howie is trying to work it so the trade counts as post June.

They were talking...some asset this year and then officially AJ gets moved for the 1st round next year.

The issue is that it's stupid for the other team... so then it would need to be picks next year....then just officially do it post June.

So I wouldn’t do any " mock" drafts with any big assets getting acquired this year.

The issue is that next year's picks aren't the same value as this year... so let's say Howie wants next year's 1st and 2nd from a team...that team giving up it's first 2 picks in a draft is tough.

Might be we get a 1st, 3rd and pick swap next year. If you are the Patriots and he is your choice... with how these other guys are getting paid...it's a huge bargain for AJ... they may give up the picks.

I also think Howie is assuming that the Pats won't have as good of a season coming up and rather than pick 31, they want the better pick.

Also gives 2 drafts in a row with extra picks early in the draft.

Nothing new,picks we had figured in already. Only differences are 179 to 178 and 201 to 215. If they want to end racism they need to stop the r*acist "bonus" for hiring a "coach of color". I'm not doing mocks assuming we get anyone. Maybe a few minor depth fills after the draft although I did build in an extra pick if AJ is traded which doesn't affect my mock, which is usually wrong anyhow 🤪. IDK losing Phillips saved some, so maybe an edge and also draft another,but money is tight this year. Howie could still move back a bit in round 1 for added picks or so we can move up in round 2 or 3. Last year for Fangio so I hope we get a few D guys coached up before he goes. Anyway, since we saved the loot from Phillips and Blank, I would think we get an edge or S in???

Some tidbit I didn't know before. The Eagles actually had to get a waiver from the NFL to display the head logo facing left(so the "E" showed). The NFL has some ridiculous rules. The team owner should be able to decide logo facing direction. If they want it upside down SO??? That's like telling Coca Cola they can't have red boxes. If the Lions flipped the Lion 180 would anyone really care???? Crazy

Sure fifth year option works in our favor. Got that because we took Davis so freaking high on the draft. Yet he seemed like the longer developing DT.

I have to disagree. AJ Brown is the best complete WR the Eagles have ever had? Yes, better than TO; Mike Quick; Irving Fryar; way better than one trick pony Desean Jackson; and even better than Jeremy Maclin, whom I think was the most underrated WR the Eagles have ever had. Harold Carmichael was phenomenal! But the game is soooo different now. I do think he would have excelled really well in the league now though.

Better than Alshon Jeffrey. Better than Donte Stallworth. Better than Fred Barnett and Calvin Williams. Jordan Mathews. Kevin Curtis. Tommy McDonald I can’t speak for. He was before my time.

The 5th year option would have been cheaper if he was drafted lower.

TO was better... just not hear long enough. And he did it without a Smith on the other side. But no doubt AJ is a stud and doing it with a limited QB as well.

Williams $26 mil from 2025... Davis $26 mil starts in 2027. Look at the 2025 cap...and look at the 2027 cap.

It's not the same value at all.
