Your wasting 2-3 years easy since you front loaded deals are roster was bad so we aren’t contending and we are have essentially league minimum fill ins since all our cap is being used on "core” guys Those front loaded cap hits won’t go down enough to start spending until year 3 mind you you want to front load those deals as well so how many guys would we really get 1-2 Come year 4 our core guys will be looking for new deals rookies we drafted will be looking for deals and that’s more front loading contracts how we affording them???? Resigning those guys that you front loaded,or at least sucked up near average cap hits, is much easier now. Not facing all that backloaded cap hits to work into the next deal. Have opened up cap money on top of it in general.

I don't understand why it's a difficult concept to understand the rolling cap with the carry forward amount? You sign 5 guys... year 1 cap hit is $50 million... or year 1 cap hit is $100 million. I'm the first scenario you have $50 million that you can carry forward to thr next year. Not really difficult. But No Mas....my way of paying $100 million now means I will use $50 million less later... but why isn't it obvious that this way also makes you start $50 million in the hole right from the beginning? It's really not a difficult concept to get?
February 4, 20241 yr Got a new QB coach came from Chargers with Moore… was also the Dallas QB coach when Moore was OC. So they been together for awhile

Which GMs have been afforded the freedom to not be under the gun for a couple of seasons with the pressure to produce? GMs that took on the job that wasn’t a complete disaster to begin with?

So right back at you with I have no idea why it’s difficult for you to comprehend the very easy and obvious math.

Been to the SB what like 4 of the last 5 years possibly about to get there 3rd ring
February 4, 20241 yr Hell even SF using backloaded deals and they have a QB on a rookie deal making 780k… look at Bosa at 14m goes to 20m to 42m to 52m cap hit over the next 3 years. Willing to bet by the time his cap hit spikes up to 42m though he gets a new extension lowering rhe cap hit
February 4, 20241 yr I’m just trying to figure out what teams use this front loaded contracts that you want…. Because I’m willing to bet the guys in the NFL that are doing these deals no what works better then any of us fans and they are all doing. Backloaded deals

Or possibly Hurts can be taught not to drop balls in the big game or not to take safeties 😁

It's why exactly ZERO of the 32 teams write contracts like this.

Makes zero sense to do it that way when the salary cap is a rolling one, which increases going forward.

February 4, 20241 yr I read a statement by Swift this morning stating to the effect that the collapse had nothing to do with the coaching or locker room problems. He states it was player mis-execution.

February 4, 20241 yr PFF’s Mock Draft Simulator: Biggest need for all 32 NFL teams - PFF Philadelphia Eagles. Biggest Need: Cornerback. The Pick: CB Cooper DeJean, Iowa. Big board analysis: DeJean is one of the most well-rounded athletes in college football. He can play outside cornerback, slot cornerback and even safety due to his size (6-foot-1 and 205 pounds) and speed combo. He also has some of the best ball skills of any defensive back in the class. He’s one of the draft’s top playmakers. Opinions welcome!
February 4, 20241 yr 10 Senior Bowl players who fit perfectly with the Eagles - BGN Taliese Fuaga, Offensive Tackle, Oregon State: The Eagles draft offensive lineman every year. Fuaga is 6’6” and over 330 pounds, showing prototypical size for either left or right tackle. He is a natural pass protector, not giving up a sack in all of 2023 and playing a huge part in Oregon State’s great season. Fuaga still has room to grow, especially when it comes to run blocking. The Eagles could be enamored with his raw talents and draft him as a potential heir to Lane Johnson’s right tackle spot.
February 4, 20241 yr Roobs obsvervation: 1. If you’re looking for a complete overhaul at linebacker – and I’m guessing I’m not alone there – something Howie Roseman said last week was a little concerning. Maybe a lot concerning. He spoke of the Eagles’ belief in Nakobe Dean, which I’m OK with. He’s under contract, he was a third-round pick, he was never really healthy last year, and there’s no reason not to at the very least give him a shot to compete for a starting job in training camp. But he also spoke highly of Zach Cunningham, whose play was barely adequate after signing a couple weeks into camp. Roseman seemed to be trying to convince people the Eagles will be OK running it back with the 29-year-old off-ball linebacker, and that’s the wrong approach https://www.nbcsportsphiladelphia.com/nfl/philadelphia-eagles/in-roobs-observations-whats-the-eagles-plan-at-linebacker/562673/

Have to respect it from Swift though could have been easy for him or any player to throws the coaching under the bus but instead held him and the other players accountable
