February 22, 20242 yr Supposedly the Ravens already lined up tagging DT Madubuike. Likely part of their negotiations with Queen this past season and all.

It was easily arguably the most obvious glaring situation I’ve witnessed of a team just falling off a cliff to finish a season. If we didn’t watch dallas do something to a smaller degree so annually we couldn’t have even digested what the heck just happened to this team.
February 22, 20242 yr We were a team snatching victory from the jaws of defeat so routinely. Then we couldn’t punch our way out of a wet paper bag at the end.
February 22, 20242 yr Just trading punches with the lowly g-men. That was embarrassing. But losing trading punches with the cards was brutal.

February 22, 20242 yr To end 2023 we just clearly weren’t a team on a levels above the lowest of the low of the league. We ran out of counterpunches playing the cards. They are sitting fourth pick.

Need to refine his skills, but the talent is good enough for our RBBC approach. has NP running easy pass routes. A clone of what we have, but we seem to like those So(see above) Where did you hear about drafting Davis first?(It's on page 65) Glad they agree with me above 😁
February 22, 20242 yr Cards beat us they would have earned the second pick instead of the fourth. Really screwed them over. They’d be having a completely different sounding offseason at pick 2…instead of 4. Kyler Murray would be the major trade talks. Fields would be a much more distant loser trade.
February 22, 20242 yr I gotta come back to the Ray Davis tape FL. First game was Ball St. Second E Kentucky. Third Akron. Him looking impressive against those guys really doesn’t show me anything. I’ll get back once o can devote a deeper dive look. Obviously more interested in how he compares and stacks up against the SEC more NFL incoming players. Did like his awareness and hands so far though.
February 22, 20242 yr Vanderbilt next. Geez. But now a Little flat pass where Davis carries the Florida defender into the end zone after previously making a defender miss. Now we are getting into some more meat on the bone playing.

He has nice weight to him also. he can bang at 216. Of course all RB's have those easy gimme games,so it's fairly relative. Not saying they take him. There are others. Just depends if they want to use a high pick or not. Davis is a nice round 5 snag without using a higher pick. he would be fine in the RBBC as I'm sure we will find a vet in FA as well
February 22, 20242 yr Alright FL I’m pretty sold on taking this Ray Davis RB in the fifth. Looks versatile. Plus like guys that likely have a chip on their shoulders. Him being SEC….but Kentucky instead of all our Georgia and Bama alum think provides him with that fire and hunger.

Not alot of film on him in pass pro/ lead blocking for someone else which I feel would be something of value they look at
February 22, 20242 yr Davis has that ‘Man amongst Boys’ look watching his college play. I think he can make the translation to the next level. Not all blown away believing he’d come in looking to dominate or anything. Could easily see him replacing Gainwell this season. Bring in Donte Foreman and another up and coming young vet RB. Would assume other than Foreman any vet RB signings would be limited to one year prove it contracts. So decide which vet earns a place as part of our future. While bringing along Davis. The goal being setting up a strong RB pipeline.
February 22, 20242 yr Author I mean Davis has the weight and frame as tools for those things, but did he do it at Kentucky? he would be a "prospect". As I said when I posted him,he is rough, needs coaching. IDK if he could work into the rotation year 1 but I don't see why not. BGN also brought up Allen. I like him too,but Howie would need to use a higher pick and not sure he would. I suppose it depends on who we get in FA,but we;re going to have to find one if we aren't going to re-sign Swift. personally I would like to keep him(Swift) here. He had a nice run early for us before the wheels came off. I will be watching Davis intently at the combine

I was skeptical about the early weak competition he faced. Did notice several fairly large holes he busted through their blocking created. In the FL game didn’t realize if it was schematic playcalling or fantastic Oline play? But they did create huge lanes up the gators gut. He had two impressive plays by himself that game also.

But RB's are no longer priority picks now. Lots of decent ones can be had late. Have to see if he moves up boards or not
February 22, 20242 yr All my years observing college and pro football I’ve learned to notice the particular details much more. Great playcall versus an advantageous D alignment doesn’t do much as far as any players translating to the higher level of the game. Good awareness and hands tends to translate. Players can’t be slow. But speed really isn’t everything. A ‘Real Football Player’ doesn’t only come in the form of guys running 4.3 forties. Awareness overcomes faster players that let that speed carry them in the wrong directions that much faster.

February 22, 20242 yr Author The trade back to 28 netted the 60 pick and Stover would be a terrific TE2

He can be taught by track coaches to come out of the gates like a sprinter quicker. But that’s just part of the whole draft process all these kids are brought through these days.
