Been to the SB what like 4 of the last 5 years possibly about to get there 3rd ring While you are keeping open your contending window that’s when I agree with it being time to backload the contracts. Makes perfect sense then.

Willing to bet by the time his cap hit spikes up to 42m though he gets a new extension lowering rhe cap hit SF has been paying Jimmy G before that. But again…You are making my point for me. Once you have a contending team…then you can go all in on backloading contracts. Throw in trading future picks as well. Don’t won’t to throw too much at you to absorb all at once here though.

Because I’m willing to bet the guys in the NFL that are doing these deals no what works better then any of us fans and they are all doing. Backloaded deals All these GMs on the hot seat for job security I don’t see as making the best decisions for the well being of their franchises.

Lmao wow would they be a contending team if they didn’t luck into Purdy????? He’ll if they kept jimmy G they would have back loaded deal it also sounds like idk when we won a SB with Wentz/Foles and had backloaded deals and ****ed about or got to a SB with Hurtd and backloaded deals your ****ing about now so how is it different????

Do you have less cap space by freeing up the future cap space instead while bringing past rollover cap forward? Not what my math concludes on.

February 4, 20241 yr Author Like this kid as a late RB snag. 984 yards in 2023(I believe he had a leg injury for a few games),previous was 1248 both years- 245 pounds. 6'2"- a bit tall for a RB,but if we added another 5-8 pounds-seems to have the muscle mass to make him even better. he needs to work on a few skills, but seems a solid prospect who could spot in year 1. Round 5 or maybe 4,but I would not go higher than that

He states it was player mis-execution. All 22 guys for 6 games in a row?? I find that tough to buy LOL

The Pick: CB Cooper DeJean, Iowa. Big board analysis: DeJean is one of the most well-rounded athletes in college football. He can play outside cornerback, slot cornerback and even safety due to his size (6-foot-1 and 205 pounds) and speed combo. He also has some of the best ball skills of any defensive back in the class. He’s one of the draft’s top playmakers. Opinions welcome! Not a Howie pick. I'm thinking ROT/G. The RG is not set in stone,Kelce could retire(who knows it's an annual guessing game) and I believe Howie is comfy taking linemen,at least before he opens up and bucks history. CB,LB,S(drafted) are always needs with this team

February 4, 20241 yr Honestly I think the last gem in the draft I found was Stephon Diggs I remember I wanted him so bad and look at him now round 5 guy lol

Fuaga is 6’6” and over 330 pounds, showing prototypical size for either left or right tackle. He is a natural pass protector, not giving up a sack in all of 2023 and playing a huge part in Oregon State’s great season. Fuaga still has room to grow, especially when it comes to run blocking. The Eagles could be enamored with his raw talents and draft him as a potential heir to Lane Johnson’s right tackle spot. Check out my guy Suamataia(BYU)

I think Ainias Smith from Texas A&M fits that bill. I believe he is the best slot WR in the draft(not the best WR the best SLOT fit for us). Check him out when you get time. I would say round 4 would be a nice place for him. I see my guy TJ Tampa moving up the boards now too(CB-Iowa St) If I'm not mistaken we will pick up a 3rd and 4th in comps?. In any case I'm finding a treasure trove of usable guys in round 4

But let’s start real small here for you to understand this ultra simple concept of what I’m trying to explain to you. 2020 season. The Jason Peters signing. Guilty of holding on to a player way too long? Yes. Guilty of it being a bad player selection? Yes. But none of that is actually relevant to what I’m saying here. Answer me what paying Jason Peters in 2020 was ever going to do for the 2020 team to accomplish? What was the 2020 signing of Jason Peters going to ever do to help this franchise moving forward?
February 4, 20241 yr Team peaked in 2017 winning the SB. A steady decline each year after. 2019 team at best could have won a single playoff game. 2020 team was trash. Yet we spent our future cap dollars on this team, why?
February 4, 20241 yr Author I also like Cade Stover the TE from OSU. Would make an excellent TE2 to pair with Goedert as an offensive weapon. I'd like to keep Stoll he is good as a pass blocker and he can catch in a pinch ,let the other disappointments walk
February 4, 20241 yr Is there just no way you can envision a version where we didn’t have to be paying for Brandon Brooks massively on our SB losing team in 2021?

So how long was that SB window open for? At best a single second season…though it was a lesser squad. It is possible to contend for several years in a row. Look at KC and Niners like you mentioned.
