Watch the movie PCU and the people who get offended over everything. It's why a lot of comedians won't go to college campuses anymore.

PCU there's a movie I haven't heard about or watched in some time.  Jeremy Piven can be good.

So then if you're good enough why not sit out?

If I were a projected first round pick I’d sit out too. Too much downside with the virus and too much we don’t know about long term effects.

Not to mention you could easily get hurt and ruin the chances that you go in the first round. I may not like it but it's probably pretty smart on their end. Probably even to just use it as an excuse to save themselves for the NFL.

Frasier might be the best spinoff in TV history. Fantastic show.

Better Call Saul took the mantle.

I think NRC is a lock.  They've pretty much come out and said he's a top 5 nickel corner in the game. I like LeBlanc a lot, I was confused with the NRC signing to be honest.  They seem to be collecting a bunch of the same player but it makes sense if they want to have a positionless secondary.

So if Jones wins the #2 CB position, you think Maddox sits and NRC is the nickel?   If Slay is shadowing the other team’s best WR, and that receiver lines up in the slot, that means the nickel plays outside.  Would you rather that be Maddox or NRC.  I would take Maddox.

Schwartz has said that for Slay to shadow, the other CBs have to be versatile, basically able to play inside and outside. The two CBs that fit that best are Maddox and Jones.

I suggested that NRC and Leblanc may battle for the dime.  Despite his small stature, I think NRC wins that because his speed is better than Leblanc’s   Leblanc may be the better tackler though.  If Rasul is still here, he might be in the running too.

Frankly, the dime also needs to play STs.  Playing STs really helped Craig James stick and you could see the impact on coverage teams when he went down.

Another great one. VG is probably the best writer in TV history. Between BB, BCS, and his work on the X-Files, that guy is pretty incredible.

Watch a 1990s parody film on political correctness?  I would rather watch Bill Maher.  I agree with him on cancel culture.  It seems to really dwell in Twitter, which in my mind is good for following sports.  But those are lemmings jumping on a moment to demonstrate their wokeness to everyone that "follows” them.  But there is a difference between that and social awareness and emotional intelligence.

Not only this instance but id Slay follows their best receiver the other outside CB would have to be able to play both sides.

Not something we've seen under Schwartz.

I disagree with Mahar  on many things but at least he usually seems reasonable.

By todays standards anyway.

See Ruggs is going to work out of slot?

if i were an eagles opponent and Slay shaows i would keep him in the slot a ton and force us to play the other two corners outside

I do wonder if some of them slip because the film they have as a sophomore raises the question how they perform when they have been scouted and prepared for.  There are risks both ways.  Those that will be juniors may need to consider a senior year to show they live up to that status. Some who may put up film If colleges do play may rise above some of those who sat.

Michael Thomas is most deadly in the slot.  You can bet that Cooper will slide inside sometimes and Lamb slides outside.  I won’t be surprised at all if sometimes DJax is in the slot and Reagor the Z.  It is a chess game.

So, if Slay shadows, that has to mean the top three CBs have to play inside and outside.  Hence my Jones and Mills conclusion.

I never watched either, although I might have randomly caught a scene from time to time. Other than Seinfeld, I can't think of a sitcom in the past thirty years that I faithfully watched. I used to watch NYPD Blue but that was a dramatic series.

I would hope the goal of the positionless player secondary is to mask the obvious man vs zone tell with Slay. Have him shadow some times but also switch it up to keep the offense guessing. Maddox also graded out as one of the fastest CB's at the combine so he should be able to also cover any speedy WR's working the slot also.

I can't stop thinking about how many Matt Barkleys there are gonna be in this draft who wont get exposed in their final college season.

I think next year's draft might be similar to the drafts in the sixties and early seventies. Back then there were teams that actually knew how to scout (Cowboys, Rams, Steelers, Raiders). And then there were teams that it appeared just threw darts and hoped for the best. Sadly, the Eagles were one of the teams in the latter group.

For example, there's an old story that when the Raiders drafted tight end Ray Chester in the first round, the Jets didn't even have him on their board!

It don't think it will be that extreme, but I do think there will be some teams who will be exposed and some teams who will be rewarded. I know it's always like that to some extent, but I think it'll be worse.

David Chase and David Simon are the best, IMHO.

There's an ish ton of movies you couldn't make now, because you'd offend someone.  We've raised a couple generations of thin skinned easily offended aholes.  The Thought Police is becoming more of a reality than we even dreamed.  We all have light/dark or good/bad in us, it's the part we choose to act upon that defines who we are.  It's impossible to control someone's thoughts.  Allow people to consider both light/dark and make the right choice.  Suppressing thoughts is how 1933 Germany got started, FFS.

It's no worse now than The Moral Majority was in the 80s.  Those creeps were always on their high horse trying to censor and remove TV shows, movies, all sorts of entertainment that didn't meet their "standards".  They put a lot of pressure on sponsors and networks.  Stand-up comedians are more tasteless now than ever; even I can't put up with more than about 10-15 minutes of Jim Jefferies, Anthony Jeselnik, or Bill Burr -- and those are just the mainstream ones.

There's certainly no shortage of violence or nudity in today's movies.  I'd say any shortage of humor might be because of a lack of comedic writing talent more than a fear of offending anyone.

Maddox didn’t cover anyone last year so here’s hoping he reaches back to his rookie year.

We need every penny of that nearly $24 million rolled in to next year.  Do they try to extend Goedert, Gerry, potentially Mills if he adjusts to safety during the season?  Is anyone else even worthy of an extension?  I only have Gerry down because they seem high on him.  If they let KGH walk then I see no reason why Gerry can't follow him out the door but I think they want him long term.

Gerry is a RFA next year. I think you can slap the lowest tender on him and not really have to worry about it, and then extend him in 2022 hopefully with a better cap situation. Goedert probably the same, let him play out his last rookie year contract. Sucks for the players, but hey unprecedented times and were all in this together and such.

If you want to extend anyone, I think you drop Barnetts 5th year and do something with him for cheaper than the $10M he's about to get.
