Is it racist or just creating comedy based off of racial stereotypes?  One of my favorite stand up acts of all time is Eddie Murphy's Delirious.  He constantly rags on white people but it's still hilarious.    Heck he did the white face act on SNL and it was hilarious.  Don't care because there's truth to every stereotype out there.  Do all white people walk on their toes, talk with a nasally tone of voice of course not.

IMO, a lot of good comedy is based off of exaggerating racial stereotypes.

East Bound and Down, Joe Dirt, Reno 911 while they aren't comedy gold by any means all exaggerate redneck/white trash stereotypes.

Just like I'm Gonna Git You Sucka or CB4 exaggerate a lot of the inner city stereotypes.

The term racist is so watered down anymore it's lost all meaning.  What Riley Cooper said was racist.  Calling someone a racial slur to their face is racist.

Look up the Gary Patterson story to see what qualifies as racist now.

People have gotten really good at hiding their racism, and stereotyping isn’t something we should be applauding.

Agree that people hide racism but the other side of that are there's a vast majority of people trying to find racism where it doesn't exist and trying to make every single thing seem like it's racist.

Actually slightly disagree. People can’t hide it as much now as social media will find something or they feel the need to just say something after they get irritated by a topic or convo on social media via status, twitter, Instagram story or Facebook discussion. Sure there’s some that do but i think it’s why you are seeing more come to light nowadays

that said I’m actually shocked that vh1, mtv and Comedy Central has continuously aired the chappelle show over the last couple months. The show is nothing but racial stereotypes. Not that i take offense or bothers me when he says things about white people cause he does it for literally every race and religion. I’m just shocked there hasn’t been some sort of outrage with today’s culture

I would say that overt racism is more prevalent than it has been in many years because of the overt racism of a certain individual.

I was banned from the other site... well a year banned.

I was reading an article and went "o, EMB used to have good info, let me see if im allowed back" Google- log in, here i am

Well, in case you hadn't heard, the Eagles decided that they didn't want a message board anymore, so we had to create (well, re-create) a new EMB here.

If you're interested, there's some links in this thread that tell the story, specifically the 'Welcome' thread There's a news video in there that talks about it:

If you want your old post count restored, you can either let me know here or in the post count thread (linked in the thread above).

Unsure of the prices down there. I have less then 7K wrapped up into mine. 5Kish on the unit, less then 2K on the labor. I also got a ton of tax rebates. I also have a 5 year old so I have to be some what responsible.

A neighbor of mine had one installed about 10 years ago and it cost him a little over $10,000. I've seen 22,000 Watt standby generators advertised at Home Depot (I think), for around $5,000 though.

So looking at the DE's:

Locks - Graham, Barnett

Basically locks - Curry, Sweat, maybe Avery?

Outside looking in - Ostman, Miller, Toohill, Leo, greend

Hard to rank where Avery is along the line. Seems like they didn't have much of a plan for him but they gave up decent draft capital in a trade. Does that buy him this year? Ostman seems to be a coaches favorite, it will be interesting to see how he is coming off the ACL. Miller is a complete unknown, but looking like a wasted pick. Factoring in Schwartz saying he wants Jackson kicked out to DE at times i'm guessing they go 5. Avery, Ostman, Miller battle it out for the last spot. Toohill/Leo possible PS guys.

Greend might be no spring chicken but he has nice bend and really a high motor never gives up on a play. Might get a little frustrated at times but he has a good heart. He’s also got fresh legs as he hasn’t taking the beatings of the rigors of the nfl over the years. I’m pulling for him. He’s a nice sleeper developmental prospect.

Curry was still good last year. But this sucks while Griffen is still out there.

Avery has to make the team. He barely played last season and they gave up too much to get him.

I generally agree on that, but at the same time then you are likely dumping Miller who cost the same and also barely played.

I always thought it was funny how the running joke forever on the old boards was that they need a big back, and when they finally got an efficient one with Blount they win a Super Bowl with him contributing majorly in the playoffs/Super Bowl.

Neither -- I'm disagreeing with the assertion that there are comedy movies that aren't being made now because the industry is afraid of offending anyone.  There have always been "watchdogs", and there are still lots of entertainment options that push the envelope.

I mean TV is basically a free for all in terms of comedy especially for animated stuff.  Look at Rick & Morty or Archer it's not like they're anywhere near tame or politically correct.

I feel people are little more forgiving of old media and entertainment. He did receive backlash during his most recent comedy special on Netflix.

Edit: damn it’s been a few years. 2017 Netflix comedy special.
