Everything is political in today’s world. Welcome to 2020 dawg

I'm not kidding when I didn't know the Eagles were actually practicing.  Leave it to them to give us 56 seconds of "highlights" when there is absolutely no access for fans or the media.  They have the absolute worst staff when it comes to content.  Look at Tampa Bays website compared to the Eagles.  It's absolutely pathetic.  I've been pretty vocal on the boards about my displeasure with the lack of coverage, photos, videos and not more TCL but this is just plain out bad.

Man, I look at those vids and pictures and it's exactly what the EMB used to be like...  3 years ago.

Who tf decided to totally wipe all that out??

I eat out about once a week, for me  it's not that the food is better it's just a treat to not have to cook.

If you're in or near Philly, I highly recommend La Calaca  Feliz on Fairmount Avenue. They have an outdoor seating area in back. The food (Mexican) is first rate and they make great  margaritas. They take reservations. https://www.cantinafeliz.com/menus

Side note...

I sincerely hope everyone is doing OK amongst the shiddy situation our world is in. I know I annoy the crap out of people on here when I act like a 12 year old, but it’s how I deal with stress. Despite how much of a **** I look like in hindsight.

The gym I run lost almost 25% of it’s membership, I had to cancel a trip to Florida, and there’s a good chance I’ll be forced to make a career change soon. So much for that exercise science masters degree....

Very unsure about football season. I’m going to miss Saturday morning college gameday. Just can’t find myself to get motivated when I know the top stories will all be covid related.

On a positive note.... really enjoying the Flyers right now and happy I never cared about the Sixers.

I think this study is BS, but if true you only need to hold on a little while longer. https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.07.23.20160762v1.full.pdf (page 12, line 268)

I believe the NFL cannot play games on Friday and Saturday until early December due to an anti-Trust exemption agreement from 1961.  I would imagine that they would require a US Govt agreement in order to broadcast on those days before December and presumably for TV  companies to agree to lose games.

People have their minds made up on this virus. And to be honest the fitness industry has been trending down before the pandemic. New member numbers in January were horrible. Covid just accelerated things about 3-5 years.

My thought is gyms like Planet fitness, golds, LA Fitness, and other gyms that are relatively cheap will slowly fade because they need such a large membership base where 80-90% of members don’t show. We’ll see though

I can already see Agent Orange ready with his no kneeling or no agreement BS

Didn't know that since I don't watch college ball. Why is there an anti-Trust exemption agreement?

The Sixers make it really hard to be a fan. They’ve wasted more talent and assets in the last 35 years  then have had success from it. Plus ownership sucks right now and are clueless

I feel that, the cooking duties in my house fall on me. Fortunately I love doing it, but we also get a meal out once every other week or so, just to give myself a break.

I would say this is the perfect argument for players NOT to get paid.  I posted about this last week.  Outside of a few top schools, college sports aren't making money.  Yes, football is bringing in $120 million but that $120 million is paying for all other sports to happen.  Nebraska isn't there sitting on $120 million thinking what can we do with all this cash.  They are funding all the other sports.  Paying to install top notch facilities, players lounges, cafeterias and such.  There is such a misconception about the money made by college football.

I don't know that players need to get paid.  What I abhor is the NCAA refusal to let the athlete capitalize on their involvement in sports.  Let them get paid to sign autographs.  Let them get paid to advertise.  Let them get money from fans of the school.  They could do all of these things without impacting the revenue from the game.  Frankly they should be allowed to be enter the draft and play another year in college if they don't like where they were drafted. They should be able to transfer schools freely.

It's do with the sale of TV rights collectively and them violating anti-Trust laws as a consequence.  If teams could sell their own rights, it would be ok but as the NFL want parity across the league in that regard, Congress got involved and limitations were placed on them to ensure that other levels of sport were not affected.  Basically

"Tapping”?

Yeah I was trying to figure out what exactly they meant by that. That has multiple different meanings

I assume, ffs, that in this case tapping means repetitively placing ones finger lightly on someone’s shoulder. Ffs please don’t let me be wrong
