I thought this was a real article until I saw that Sydney’s fiancée is Cydney Tate.  C’mon.  Are we supposed to believe that?  Plus his trainer made him give up pork?  Everyone knows the key to a balanced diet includes pulled pork.

It's still technically an amateur activity.

Play in the spring.  The NFL will adapt the combine and draft accordingly.  Several blue-chip players will opt out, so the product will be sub-optimal.

But at least they won't be putting student-athletes' health at more risk than usual.

Imo it isn’t just blue chip prospects. I think there’s gonna be players who opt out as well that don’t wanna play February to let’s say April and then have to come back in September to play another season. That’s a lot of football Games in the total of Like 8-10 months and I’m guessing covid isn’t going to just be cured then either by February. Maybe a vaccine if we are hopeful so still have covid issues at that time imo. They aren’t professionals. They don’t get the training or time to train to prepare for that like the nfl players do or a lot of the luxuries the professional players do. That’s a lot on their plate and bodies

While ncaa is protecting health of players from covid, i tend to also think they don’t want the liability that comes if a kid dies from getting covid 19. Yes protecting players but also a money issue in the liability that comes if things go completely sideways.

If the NCAA has a spring season I tend to believe there’s going to be more injuries long term due to the wear and tear when you’re gonna have a season in the spring, couple months off and then start up another season in the fall semester (August). Maybe have to start the fall season later next year but at some point have to get it back on track. Usually season is August to December. Break for a couple weeks or month a game or two (if bowl eligible or male playoff). Then break besides practices from mid January to August (not including spring practice or practices before season). We are talking about possibly 22-23 games in the span of like 10 months. That again it’s a lot of football that you are playing. That’s more than even Nfl players play in the span of 12 months And they aren’t professionals and they aren’t getting nfl luxuries or being paid besides scholarships. I have to imagine that’s going to take a toll on their body At some point.

Not every kid is preparing for the NFL. Most of these guys won’t have careers after school. If it’s possible to have them play and do it safely then they should.

I'm just saying if certain kids want to just play in the NFL they can use this time to train and prepare.  It would be a waste to use this time to get ready for a spring season because that likely wont happen.

the NFL schedule is not the only issue. If they play in the spring, then theyre supposed to be ready to play in the fall again? 2 seasons in 1 year? Sounds like a ridiculous ask of those athletes.

That's why the NBA will also have a problem when their season is over in October.  Then these guys are going to turn around 1-2 months later in December and play an 82 game season?  Not happening.

What’s worse.  Sixers bench or Phillies bullpen?

Phillies bullpen. They have two bullpen arms that are professionals.

How can they continue to have the same exact issues.  It's maddening.

Well now you have new issues apparently we can’t catch pop-ups on the infield. We have segura calling off Hoskin who has an easier play on that Ball. So instead of getting the last out and going to the bottom of the 9th tied at 6, the two idiots could not catch a pop-up at basically the pitchers mound and gave the Orioles two runs.  Bravo. That play speaks volumes about the Phillies under Matt klentak and the last 5 seasons

Love burnt ends, ribs, ham, cracklings, chops etc.  Pigs are the other white meat.

Hard Knocks sucks. I wouldn’t watch it even if the Eagles were on it.

So, if the NFL season kicks off and overcomes the virus impact, it may be the only or close to the only new programming on tv in the fall. That means we may be inundated with political ads those first couple months.   As much as it will be difficult, I think I will DVR games and start watching about forty minutes later to avoid.  I hate political ads.  Right now, I am recording local and national news and watching a half hour later to avoid the political ads.   Am I the only one that hates them?

I hate ads in general, but I don’t hate the political ads enough to delay the game. I will 100% have the results spoiled if I did. Streaming the game a few plays behind is hard enough lol.

Those beer companies will fight for their airtime.

It's also market driven.  I'd suspect a lot of adds in the Philly market and the other battlegrounds (e.g. the Florida teams).  Not so much in NYC, Boston, California, etc.

everyone knows you record the political ads and watch them for entertainment.

Finally politics we can all agree on

Gotta feel for these kids losing their season before the nfl draft. Awful

The NFL and Eagles basically don't exist right now.  There is a total information/entertainment lockdown with the Eagles, with the exception of the players and coaches dropping like flies to injuries, extracurricular concussions, COVID, opt-outs, and retirement.  Nothing we want to hear or see until week 1, if that even happens.

Sixers and Phillies are a depressing follow right now.  They are reaching the much-anticipated coinciding crescendos of years long rebuilds...and we are witnessing the sad reality that the maturing products just aren't good enough.

The town is ready to be painted orange, because all hope rests on the Flyers at the moment.  Fortunately, you really need to go back to the 90's early legion of doom squads to find more fresh optimism and excitement from a Flyers team.

Going to help some of them and hurt others. I don't get the spring games though. That's going to really complicate things if they don't push the draft back to June or something.

especially if thats when you do an ACL and your rookie NFL season is completely done.
