That was my impression as well. Hart was fantastic.

The Flyers and 6ers/Phillies could not possibly be heading in opposite directions any faster.

I find the NBA to be unwatchable.

Everson Griffen to the Cowboys isn't a great look for Howie.

It's not that Howie "missed" Griffen.  Well, he did in 2010 when he nonsensically drafted DTO over him.  But that's ancient history.  Griffen probably wanted to go to Dallas.

But Dallas gets a DE who would be the best on our team (sorry Graham, it's true) for less money on a clean contract, whereas Graham has an albatross of a nearly absurd $18m cap hit next year while they'll also be on the hook for over $10m with Barnett.

Watching Dallas pick up a better DE than both of them for pocket change as an afterthought reflects how much Howie has struggled at this position.

If Griffen is so great, then why did it take him so long to find a job?

Alright, what situation would you choose if your life depended on a Philadelphia win?

6ers down 2, Simmons at the 3-point line with an expiring shot clock.

Phillies up 1 with 3 innings to go and the starter out of the game.

He's not so great.  He's 32...and COVID.

The marquee FA at the position never signed, which never set the market and also delayed dipping into the lower tiers.

1st round talents don't fall to the 4th round for no reason. That sort of hindsight draft logic is such a pain in the a**. Were you one of the folks dunking on the Redskins Football Team for missing on Guice?

Definitely agree on the contract situation next year. I think you either extend Barnett in 2021 or you get rid of him. No way they'll be able to carry him next year at that number.

Phillies. While their bullpen might surrender some runs, they still have three more at bats.

No way Simmons is making that shot.

I was firmly on the Griffen bandwagon in 2010.  It's not hindsight.  He was everything I get blasted for focusing on.  A monster athlete with huge explosion at a downhill position.  He was a 1st round talent who fell to the 4th for a reason and it worked out.  With hindsight, he'd have been a 1st round pick.  Under the circumstances, he should have been no later than late 2nd.  Howie drafted 2 DE's and 3 defensive players ahead of him though.  Water under the bridge at this point.

Yup.  The at-bats give the Phillies a puncher's chance of still winning.

Simmons needs to take the shot in order to make it, which further drags down the odds.

Phillies but I feel better on what part of my lineup is coming up. If I can have Harper, Realmuto and Didi I like my chances. If it’s going to be McCutchen, Hoskins and Quinn i still go Phillies but i hate both situations.

This honestly isn’t good for us 😕

Honestly, there won't be a season and the money they save will roll to next year.

Officially 1 month to gameday.

8 seed but yeah I agree, got away with a mediocre effort. Very exciting stuff

Random...

I’ve lived in Pittsburgh, no Baltimore. And I try to avoid wearing my Eagles or Phillies shirts in public because there’s always some rando who insists on making some dumb comment or trying to talk sports with me.

Ok MFer I’m just trying to order my burrito idc if you think we should have kept Foles

I wear my eagles stuff everywhere and I live in "Steeler Country". Occasionally I get a snide comment or two. But I also get "nice jersey" which helps me to identify other fans

FYP. That was a mistake by Howie, the guy mentioned us as a place he wanted to go to.

It's not bad for us, either.  He is good, but not great.  Not a major game changer and can be silent in games

Sounds like the time to focus on Eagles draft prospects or if the Union will break through

The mistake wasn't not signing him.  The mistake was the cap hell that Howie has put the Eagles in causing them to be very frugal.  No, his contract isn't big by any means but every penny the Eagles can roll over to 2021 helps them avoid a lot of problems.  It definitely sucks seeing him go to Dallas.  Aside from being just a good football player he is also a very solid pro which might help that locker room.  Dallas got better, never good news when they do.

That's still the mistake. Regardless of the reason.

The Cowboys got such a steal in Everson Griffin that both the Vikings (team that knows him best) and Seattle (SB contender with the biggest hole at EDGE) passed on the deal. Those aren't dumb franchises either.

I like the signing for Dallas, but age/health are significant reasons why other team's didn't want him.

Does he drop it?
