I think he would have gotten the first if he cut inside to attempt to evade Harmon. At the time I was really annoyed when th Agholor, but once he tried to outrun him to the edge he had no choice but to get the first.

This has been my view of it.

Maybe he was bringing her in for a musical performance to bond the team together.

Agholor as a W2/W3 where he can operate on his own terms is average to good. Where his issue arrive, is when he is asked to be the man or has the spotlight on him.  Agholor got better at being resilient, but he's still not what you'd call a pure number 1 WR.

Being on the Raiders as a part could be what he needs.  Either ways, it's not the Eagles problem

I'd go w3 or w4

I'd take Beaskey over agholor every day of the week. Especially with Fletcher Cox playing next to him.

We get it dude. You love meaningless preseason games, the earth is flat and the butterfly effect keeps you up at night.

As much as I rag on Agholor, because he sucks, I sure as hell wouldn't have taken Beasley over him on February 4, 2018.

Ah, thanks. So is this bubble just for camp or something that they are looking to do all season? Good idea. I haven't heard about the Eagles doing something similar.

Its just a team hotel for players that want to stay during TC.Teams have to offer it to players, who then decide if they want to stay or go back and forth to their home. Part of the rules came up with between NFLPA and NFL were no visitors. Every teams has this arrangement, and its usually just rookies/udfa's/guys new to the area.

Yeah but Stephen A Smith argued for conjugal visits for players lol.

I would, but I'm in the process of watching the SB season, when he could just get on with his job and was confident, he looked a player.  In the position like he has in LV, it could be situation to shine as there are zero expectations off of him.

Or he will get cut at the end of TC.

Maybe or maybe they'll keep him around as a 4 or 5

Let me put it this way. I'd forgotten how good Agholor looked in that season and the catches he was making in big situations.  Away from the Philly melting pot, he may well thrive

Maybe so. but I wouldn't bet too much on it. Like an old slice of moldy bologna is too much

Is it messed up that I'm surprised a 7th rounder that hasn't even played gets any kind of news when retiring?

I'm not and I don't care if he does/doesn't.  I suppose as Eagles fans, we've understandably written him off as a bum, when there is something more there.

I really hope Howie doesn't panic and sign Ertz to a new deal.

Big day bohm in the lineup

Seems like the rest of the league pretty much has as well or he wouldn't be making chump change as a w.r.

Howie should have got that Ertz deal done, TE numbers going up.

This season will say everything about Ertz’s future with the Eagles, as will the salary cap number for 2021 and beyond.

I’ve had the opinion for more than a year now that I would not give Ertz another contract.  Kittle at $15M and Kelce at $14M+ per season should be paid higher then Ertz — they’re better players and better weapons in their offense.  Ertz has great hands, gets open very well, runs excellent routes and is a solid team player.  My issues with him have always been his blocking and what he doesn’t give after the catch.

The price to extend Ertz will likely be in the Travis Kelce vicinity.  I think I’d prefer make Goedert more of a featured target and develop the younger WR over extending Ertz at $14M per season.  The question for me becomes when do you trade him?  He’s a UFA after the 2021 season.  I think the Eagles still need him through this season, and an offseason trade is most likely.

It's a buyers market out there.

Keep in mind Kelce was an extension. He's making $14 per season only on the new years. Factor in his current contract and it brings his APY down for the next 6 years, assuming he makes every dime. Ertz seems motivated to stay, so I think you could get something done with a discount that is a notch below. Give him a 4 year $48M extension, so he's making $12M APY on the new years, but over the next 6 would be averaging around $10M APY. Not saying I would do that personally, but I think thats a reasonable extension if you want to keep him.

Ertz is really good, but he’ll be entering his age 32 season when he hits FA. Let him play out his contract. Goedert should be plenty ready to be the No. 1 TE. With how much football changes, we may not even want to be a two-TE offense in 2022.

Frankly another reason why howie was trying to get it done sooner than later. Could put a lot of the guaranteed money on the last two years of his current deal and possibly year 3 when the extension starts.  And then years 4-6 no guaranteed money or little guaranteed money making it easier to release him and clear up cap space when he really declines

I would agree with all of this — but the Eagles are going to have to make several hard $$ decisions over the next couple of years, and going with the younger cheaper alternatives might have to be the default course of action moving forward

Would you do it for Kelce? He's a year older than Ertz

Yea, i'm back and forth on it. All things considered I would want to keep him since he is a cornerstone to the offense and also just a genuinely good guy. I think he cemented himself as a guy you would want to keep for his entire career, especially after playing with the risk of losing a kidney. But I can see the difficulty in doing so.

I'd wait it out for now. i can understand the want for getting it done last year before todays two deals came out, but now that they are here the markets set for the next 3-4 years.

Question is if cam is ever healthy to the point of where his shoulder was before. If it’s not then no. If he’s healthy and his shoulder holds up I’d agree. However i don’t trust a shoulder that’s given him issues for now 2 seasons.

That's a fair point.  His arm could be toast.  My point was really just that he's more proven than any other QB in that division.
