Gee, that’s nice. I’m just hoping "Rich” can bring some of those Niners run concepts here...

I gotta say the Progressive ads with the guy making sure new homeowners don't become their parents are getting funnier.  Latest one has him taking a group to Home Depot and hits on a couple things that are spot on.

The one where Mara is just trashing Jamie on Zoom and Flo says "Mara, you’re not on mute”, and Mara says "there’s a mute button”?

😂

My mom has a Samsung where the mute button is outlined in pink by default and it just doesn't register with her.  We have all learned to give her at least 10 seconds to un-mute herself before saying anything when calling her.

Pardon my ignorance but I don't understand the benefit of more testing.  All we are going to find out is that a heck of a lot more people have Covid.  That will make the death rate seem even smaller no?  A headline this morning was that California just hit 600,000 confirmed cases.  What happens when it says 1 million cases?  It's going to cause even more fear for half the country.

Can someone explain what good it does?  Not trying to be a smarta$$ here just really don't get it.

Testing with quick turnaround and contact tracing with quarantine can help quell the   spread of the virus.   Couple that with mask wearing and social distancing and you save lives and lessen the number of serious cases.  If there does appear to be some level of immunity or even suppression of the seriousness of the illness, knowing who had it will help understand the virus better.   Why do you seem to question mitigation efforts so much?

Just realized this will be the first TC the Eagles make their final roster decisions and we will have nothing to judge them by.

Just weird.

Oh, you can expect judgments even with an absence of evidence.

Meh. Just shows how little they care about fan and media opinion when it comes to the roster.

Damn I didnt even know Hard Knocks started this past Tuesday.  Havent seen any advertising for it or anything.

Yea, watched it last night.  Coach Lynn actively has covid but he's staying 4 rows away from people in meetings.

The scene with them all trying to get Zoom to work was good.

I think he meant he had it at some point before. No way he would be allowed near anyone if he still had it. He was also smoking a stogie at one point which he probably shouldn’t be doing if he has it.

Only half?

So it's a good year.

Who would have thought the good half was in the back end rounds of the draft as well.

Howie managed to get some commonly mocked picks in Wallace, Hightower and Watkins so he got lucky this year

Something I've been wondering about a little lately is the construction of the 53-man roster as it relates to the depth chart and the expanded practice squad list, as well as the increased flexibility to move guys on and off the practice squad "for free" throughout the year. And I'm wondering if this is going to create a situation whereby you might actually "stash" a player on your active roster rather on on a practice squad.  Let's say you're going to have twelve offensive lineman under your control throughout the season, with nine on the 53-man roster and the other three on the practice squad. It might actually make sense for the ninth guy -- who's on the active roster but who won't dress for games -- to actually be someone who's considered lower on the depth chart than the tenth (or eleventh or twelfth) guy. The idea being that you wouldn't want to have to expose him to waivers. So you'd keep the "player most likely to be claimed" on your roster and put the reserves most likely to clear waivers on your practice squad. Since they can be moved back and forth freely once the season starts, you'd only have to expose them once.

It's highly likely that barring injury, the Eagles will not be keeping ALL of Driscoll, Mailata, Wanogho, Herbig, and Pryor on the 53-man roster. I just can't see them keeping ten offensive linemen given that they're obviously going to go heavy at wide receiver, defensive line, and secondary, as well as the fact that they'll be carrying three quarterbacks this year. The math really doesn't seem to allow for it.

As a fan, it really sucks not to have preseason games to give us a chance to evaluate players. The Eagles added Elijah Holyfield to their roster last year. He never even played. And if he makes the roster, he will have done so without ever carrying a football in a "real" game for the Eagles. As a fan, It sure would be nice to have something to judge him on. Similarly, there's the battle between Hightower and Watkins. They might both make it anyway, but again, it would be fun to make some evaluations on our own as to how they look and to guess who's ahead of who on the depth chart.

Prediction: At least ONE of "Sidney Jones and Rasul Douglas" will not be on the roster on opening day.

I’m not the biggest Alex Smith fan in terms of what he brings at QB — plays a bit too safe for me — but what a magnificent human story.  After 17 surgeries and very near amputation to getting back on an NFL field.

That’s gotta be turned into a feature film.  Ryan Gosling could probably play him on screen.

They are likely to lean on the players they have already seen in games, experienced vets.  Rookies and new players will be disadvantaged.  With an expanded PS, they can stash some there.  But some will still fall thru the cracks.

Then LOL at me.  Cause you and I both know you were talking about me.  You’re his biggest fan.  We get it.  But how many years of camp drills have you seen?   Cause you can pick out great plays on camp drills all the time.  The guy is not a complete receiver.  And he’s old and his main claim to fame is his speed.  I wouldn’t expect much from him going forward.   But fan boy on.  I have my old DJax Jersey I can send you.  My guess is you already have more than one.

Except that desean exhibited those same violent hitch routes last year game 1 against skins And has most his career.. When a player has the speed desean does and corners fear that speed the 2nd best route that WR can run is a hitch that he sells as a go route. Desean is really good at those hitches because of his ability to burst off the line threaten the defender deep then slam on the brakes. Lots of guys can run really fast in a straight line not all have the ability to quickly stop that straight line speed and effectively create separation on a hitch or comeback route. Desean does and that ability makes him more dangerous as if a defender creeps up on the hitch desean runs past them.

At minimum id call desean a 2 trick pony with those two tricks being really good tricks.

I think you’re looking at it the wrong way, as an aggregate. The numbers are made up of individual cases. Wouldn’t you want to know if you were sick? Wouldn’t you want to know if your mere presence could put a family member at risk? An elderly neighbor? Your child in school, even asymptomatic, could infect her classmates, teachers, and their families. And if you are sick, wouldn’t you want to seek treatment? The virus attacks different people in different ways. In my case it attacked my heart and lungs. I got treatment and corrected a life-threatening condition. Had I not done that I might be dead, or at least at seven times greater risk of stroke.

I agree with everything you said.  His problem isn't executing when he is on the field.  His problem is staying on the field.
