It is fun.  Honestly,  you wouldn't even be able to take a slap shot.  You may "swing" the stick kind of like a slap shot, but the puck would just slide feebly along the ice.  As for hitting a 90 mile an hour fastball?  For me, eve if the bat is lucky enough to get in the way of the ball, well that about says it all

I don't know if I could even stand on skates.  I used to mess around with my buddies playing street hockey and all but the puck was so different.  I've taken a slap shot, on concrete, with a rubber puck and it went no where.  I'd love to see the difference of having a frozen puck on ice.

The scenario for all is playing against professionals. So it's not just hit a HR during batting practice, it's going against a pro pitcher that has not only speed but can also accurately target where he wants it.

Which can be right at you if he thinks you're digging in.

Nice to see Mailata getting to 2nd team

Isn't Brooks on PUP? Or are you talking about when Brooks comes back?

When did Dillard get injured?

Damn. That sucks for him. There's always a big name player that just gets to a team and then gets injured. Glad it wasn't us(knocks on wood)

SHHHHHHHH!!!!

We've been waiting forever for the first real practice.  Tons of online reaction.  Plenty of Eagles debate to be had.

And yet....we devolve to considering the hierarchy of sports difficulty.

That makes him sound like even a bigger d-bag.  Maybe a touchdown?  Dude, ESP you would get wrecked.

Maybe if the D was in the locker room

Yeah.  I saw it yesterday.

I disregard him, fervently.

It's a shame for McCoy. But if it has to be someone at least it's a Cowpie. At least it's not career ending.

Or if he's playing Madden against an NFL player.

And the ball is in the end zone and he just picks it up

My hockey goes way back. My hero was Gordie Howe. How far back? Goalies didn't wear masks. Jacques Plante, Canadiens goalie, used to leave his crease to corral dump-ins and that was really unusual. He was called the "wandering goalie." He was also the first goalie to wear a mask. The first player to make a weapon of the slap shot was Bobby Hull of the Black Hawks, known as the Golden Jet. His stick was curved like a scythe, legal for a while but not any more. NHL teams were made up of 12 players - six forwards, four defensemen, and two goalies. Only six teams in the league - Canadiens, Red Wings, Black Hawks Maple Leafs, Rangers, and Bruins. With so few teams and such small rosters, all the fans knew all the players. My school would flood the schoolyard during the winter and we would play all day. The only rule we had was "no lifting." I only played Pee Wee for a year and wasn't much good. Could skate OK but I had no backhand at all. Nobody wore helmets in those days.

It's hard to think of a less likely reporter to score a TD.

He's the kind of guy who would get totally swagged out (visor, nice cleats, wrist bands galore) and then just get destroyed.  The kid that has no ability to back up the way he dressed for the games.

Explains a lot.

I'm a big fan of the "original six".

Really hope they don't hamstring themselves with a huge Ertz contract letting Goedert get away.

Extend Ertz 3 years (2 on top of this year) and give DG the big contract in 2 years.  Ertz's final year of contact could be the first year of DG's new one.  Draft a new #2 tight end over the next few years.

I wonder if they're going to try to have him run/scramble less. I don't mind it because he does have an arm but to not use his mobility seems like a waste

He can use his mobility.  He needs to study film on Russell Wilson.....

Slide.....get out of bounds........throw it away.

I also believe that "live for the next play" will make more sense to him now that he has better weapons.

Cant see them giving Ertz a deal like Kittle and Kelce.  Kittle is ascending and Kelce is in his prime.  Ertz is still good but probably on the downward side of his career.

What makes people think Eagles are going to trade Goedert?

Yea he would be the one to study. Wilson has made a nice career out of staying healthy but still being mobile. It's pretty cool

Agreed. He'll likely not have to feel he needs to do it himself now

Not sure about downward. I think he's going to last for awhile in the league

Never said trade Goedert.  My fear is they give Ertz a massive contract and won't be able to sign Goedert when the time comes.  Hence, getting away.

Or, he could study Cam ... and do the opposite.
