In the US it's a regional sport; it will never be truly popular in states that don't have ice and snow as part of their climate.

In Canada, Sweden, Finland, Russia, Czech Republic, etc it's a national sport.

Yup.

Baseball is also a regional sport. People love watching their teams, but they're not going out of their way to watch Mike Trout.

Utah has lots of ice and snow, we even hosted the winter olympics and very few people play or care about hockey because its stooopid;)

Having said that with my very limited knowledge of hockey i prefer olympic hockey over NHL, the rules in Olympic hockey make it more tolerable, i couldnt tell you what those rules are anymore cuz i just dont care.😒

Really, attendance ??  Of course baseball has the highest attendance, they play the most games.  Of course the NFL has the lowest attendance, they have the least amount of games.

Also, sports like the NHL are punished since they get more revenue from non-American countries.

I have never said no one cares, but it is ranked #6 in my major sports rankings, college football and basketball included in the 6 sports.

Personally, I will watch Golf, Tennis, Aussie Rules Football and Cricket before Hockey.

Attendance is not a measure.  All leagues play in different size stadiums and play a different amount of games.  MLB leads in attendance, why ??  The play the most games.
