I love baseball live but hockey is by more entertaining in person Pace of game, action and fights. Even AHL games. We had season tickets to the roadrunners out here. right next to the vistors bench. and we would say random stuff to players like "I’ll take your mom out to a nice seafood dinner And never call her again” and signs like hey Ashley are you pregnant you cause you missed two periods and they would laugh, give thumbs up or even trash talk us back in good fun.

I can’t help if you don’t enjoy the game, but the fly balls and speed of the pitches are way more fun to see live. Everything is so much faster, and you get a much better idea of how far/fast a ball was hit. It’s a great time. Our political beliefs are 100% opposite and that's fine. I was more referring to the MLB comment. I have had fun at Phillies games. Bonding moments with dad, teaching nephew the game, keeping score. There is definitely a lot more you see live. The shifts and such, BP action. I just could never call it amazing. Maybe in October with Brad Lidge toeing the rubber or Joe Blanton hitting one out of the park! It's not as bad as I make it out to be. As I typed out some of the things at a game I def do enjoy those moments...just SO SLOW to me. Hockey and college football for me. I have zero interest in being surrounded by morons at Eagles games to be honest. I like watching the pregame shows, cooking the food, getting my spot on the couch and enjoying myself.

Just between you and me I would rather watch baseball live than hockey either way.

Some of my best live sports experiences have been at Hershey Bears games. I love it. I hate the fact that I'm a Bears fan though but it's a regional thing for me. I grew up here and that's the team we cheer for. They used to be the Flyers AHL club but I just hate the fact that some of the players I love to watch will be Caps some day. Amazing franchise though.

MLB live is all about the experience. Its the weather, the dogs and beer, the soothing broadcasters commentary, the organ music, and of course the beautiful game. I am one of the young people who is happy to sit down and watch an MLB game on the tv (although it is usually in the background), but there is something so much better about watching it in person.

I just looove watching the players stand around scratching their crotches through the endless commercial breaks. On television, I would agree with you, because the speed and violence of hockey just doesn't translate, plus the important stuff in hockey usually happens away from the puck, while the TV cameras follow it. What I love is seats at one end of the ice. I know you miss half the game, but the part up close is amazing. Further, you see the game from a whole different angle. The TV perspective doesn't do justice to the width of the game and how player spacing is so important. NFL and NBA are popular because they're extremely accessible via TV. Popular doesn't mean better.

I cheer for the roadrunners unless they play the phantoms which they’ve yet to do. But AHL games are cheap and it’s usually a pretty fun atmosphere and the players are way more interactive. Some of the things players would say to us in jest were hilarious.

Baseball is great background noise. throwing horse shoes we usually have it on the radio Football... warm house, bathroom, I have my own grill, beer and dont have to be sitting on top of an idiot yelling at the top of his lungs. Forgot about horse shoes, and bocce, and shuffleboard. Please insert them above MLB. I will say that listening to Harry Kalas and Rich Ashburn on a hot summer night was sublime. Better than at the ballpark.

I love it.

Live hockey in general is a total blast, but minor league hockey in particular is so much fun. But it is so fun to watch those up an comers at the AHL/minor league level before the get called up. Hockey in particular allows you to see the real discrepancy between the future pros and the journeymen. Just the closing speed difference between the two levels is astounding, and it is clear who has it an who doesnt.
August 19, 20205 yr Author Hard to have similar expectations from baseball relative to football and basketball when there is no clock in baseball. I have never not enjoyed a trip to the ball park. The key, IMO, is to have someone there with you to share the experience. To discuss what just happened and what may happen next. The game within the game. The whole ball park experience. It is not designed to be watched home alone.

My favorite thing as a kid was going to Phantoms games just to watch Bialowas fight someone. I have an autographed puck from him somewhere hidden I need to find.

Have auctions of jerseys after games with the special edition jerseys. Had here 2 dollar beer and dollar hot dog on the same night. Plus for the three stars if you sat close to the players exit they’d give kids signed sticks and sometimes jerseys. It really is a ton of fun especially if the team has good young prospects. I love going to NHL games and watching the flyers in person when i can but AHL games are fun and wild
