Forgot about horse shoes, and bocce, and shuffleboard. Please insert them above MLB.

I will say that listening to Harry Kalas and Rich Ashburn on a hot summer night was sublime. Better than at the ballpark.

Your name is JustRelax. It makes sense why you wouldn’t enjoy the fast pace of an MLB game!

Hard to have similar expectations from baseball relative to football and basketball when there is no clock in baseball.

I have never not enjoyed a trip to the ball park.  The key, IMO, is to have someone there with you to share the experience.  To discuss what just happened and what may happen next.  The game within the game.  The whole ball park experience.

It is not designed to be watched home alone.

I think enjoying a trip to the park depends on what park. Like going to dbacks games kind of suck even when the dome is closed it’s like 110 degrees inside still. Meanwhile when I’ve gone to games at petco, citizens bank, dodger stadium, angels stadium and at&t park It’s been amazing. Fenway is kind of overrated cause the seats are not enjoyable. Wriggled is also a blast just to be there but really depends on the month you go with weather. But by far i love petco. It’s beautiful and the weather is always amazing but get a lot of bad baseball with the padres.

Live hockey in general is a total blast, but minor league hockey in particular is so much fun. But it is so fun to watch those up an comers at the AHL/minor league level before the get called up.

I saw a Spokane Chiefs v Tri City Americans game right after Scott Gomez of the Americans was selected by the Devils in the NHL draft.  The Chiefs went hard after him that night, most fights I have ever seen in a game, live or TV.

I took my daughter to a Chiefs game when she was 8 or 9 years old when they had cracked down on fighting.  All through the game people are yelling for it when guys started skating around each other, and my daughter was into it.  During a potential fight, the arena went just quite enough that you could hear clear as day through all the sections around us as my daughter stands up and yells " Just punch him already ".  She got a standing O in our section and 3 guys in my section bought me a beer.

Really, attendance ??  Of course baseball has the highest attendance, they play the most games.  Of course the NFL has the lowest attendance, they have the least amount of games.

My point is that where there is a hockey team, hockey is popular.

Agreed.  But  you have to admit in total viewership, merchandise etc, it easily ranks behind NFL, MLB, NBA, NCAAFB and NCAABB.

Don’t know how many of you have been to a final four. It’s a blast with everything the have going on on the side and inside the arena it’s four bases shoved into one stadium. It’s quite the sight to see. Went to the 2001 final four with duke, Arizona, maryland and Michigan state. I just remember maryland fans after losing to duke went to the championship game and began cheering for Arizona cause they despised duke.

Had tickets to the opening weekend of NCAA in Spokane, but Covid.

Final four would be amazing, my brother got to go when Gonzaga made it a couple years ago.

The single best TV sports event after the Super Bowl is the opening 4 days of the NCAA tourney.  I take that Thursday and Friday off work every year.

This is the way a friend of mine feels about the game as well. Just between you and me I would rather watch baseball live than hockey either way.

When I took my middle daughter to her first baseball game at age 3, she sat and watched closely for about 10 minutes and then turned to me and said "what are the mens waiting for?" I think it perfectly sums up watching a baseball game.  Hockey is my favorite sport to watch live especially if you can sit close.

Ncaa opening round is a blast too. One of the best especially if you have like 4/5 seeds And 3/6 seeds playing in that pod. Tend to get a ton of upsets then and the upsets are fantastic seeing it live. I went to the one at Mckale center years ago. So much fun. Like as soon as underdog starts winning the entire crowd pulls for them besides the fans of the teams who they are playing.

went to the sweet 16 and elite 8 a couple years back in la where Wisconsin played arizona for the second year in a row. High quality basketball for all three games. So much fun

I went to the final in 94 in Charlotte.  It was Duke vs. Arkansas.  I went with a friend who was a Duke alum.  Duke made the Championship really because of Grant Hill.  The next best player was Cherokee Parks.  They couldn't keep up with Arkansas's three point shooting.  Bill Clinton was also at the game although I didn't see him.  I just knew which box he was in because of the Secret Service.

Went to a Red Sox game when Yaz was still playing. I'm 6'5" and I was miserable in my seat. Went and stood at the top of the steps and one of the ushers told me I had to sit. I said, "I don't fit," and he had mercy on me. Never going back.

I used to do the same.  Before the internet I would spread my bracket entries out on the coffee table with markers to track progress.

It’s one of the most overrated stadiums. It’s really uncomfortable. Seats are on top of each other and small. It was built for an entirely different time then today. Only reason why people love it is cause of "history” of it.

Wandering even further off-topic, I've never been a fan of audio books but I decided to give it a try and listened to a Robert B. Parker Spenser novel. The narrator mispronounced Yastrzemski and I was done. Hawk would have shot him on the spot.

I'd rather read and I hate reading. But audio books I can't pay attention to

Would the NFL/College be as good to watch, or as popular with out everything that goes with it.

I.e. the gambling, fantasy, the drinking, the eating, NFL basically gives you a reason to have a party every sunday

Hockey in particular allows you to see the real discrepancy between the future pros and the journeymen. Just the closing speed difference between the two levels is astounding, and it is clear who has it an who doesnt.

I agree on the lower levels of hockey. I have had season tickets for Quinnipiac (NCAA Div 1 Ice Hockey) for years and we love it. Saw Ghost play for Union and Alex Lyon for Yale a whole bunch of times. Toews for the Islanders, Clifton for the Bruins we QU grads... it's really cool to see them now playing in the NHL and seeing them develop.

What's the deal with the lower body/upper body injury designations? Are they going the hockey route?
