Makes sense? They gave up a guy for picks who wanted money to get another guy who wants money on a one year deal.

Douglas was never going to pay a safety that type of money. He’d be willing to pay a second rounder for ngakoue whos a pass rusher. And franchise him again if can’t get a deal done during the offseason. So yes makes sense as joe Douglas loves oline and pass rushers more than a loud mouth safety and a position he doesn’t value nearly as much as pass rusher.

Bunch of prepubescent teens in here arguing over which sport is "tougher”.

Honestly, the "toughest” sport imo, long distance running. I know many of you won’t consider it a sport but it comes down to whoever has the highest tolerance for pain.

We probably should as mattmcglinchey cause he’s the toughest out of everyone. If shirtless selfies were a sport he’d definitely say that was the toughest lol

Soccer is clearly the toughest sport. You can get clobbered even when there is no one around.

Yes, soccer is full of ridiculous falls and bishing but I can't imagine what a World Cup game is like live.  Plus...

I'd wager international soccer guys have the hottest wives and girlfriends in any of the major sports. They all have some model from Europe or Brazil. Even Bradley Cooper gets seconds.

Rugby is by far the toughest

i played one season and it was the worst beatings i have ever taken in my life

I really think the Eagles are employing a lot of bubble wrap. I watched the TC live broadcast today and he was dancing around.  No limp in his walk.

Lattimer, go practice your limp...

Pack it up. It’s over.

How about a shout out for water polo?  You have to keep swimming while throwing a ball around and having some dude trying to dunk your arse as you do it.  Those MFers have to be in tremendous shape.

And as for soccer, the 2nd most thing to follow (after the game itself) is the WAGs (wives and girlfriends).  It's a big deal in Europe.

I think that’s just Brazil

Watching Marquand Manuel’s press conference from today. One of the reporters asked what he likes about Rasul. It took a a few seconds before he could come up with something. Pretty funny moment.

I think Rasul's days are surely numbered?

Definitely. He already had his contract restructured before the season. Last year of his rookie deal. Possibly on the outside looking in to make the team.

I think actually they may be better giving his roster spot to one of the young corners... I mean he clearly isn't favoured by this coaching staff so why keep him around? I know he has played in the NFL and I know he has had some good games so that's the argument for keeping him but I think they may be better going with one of the rookies. I actually like Rasul but in this scheme he doesn't seem to fit and they should look to the future. This team isn't winning the Super Bowl next year and even if they can compete I am not sure Rasul would help them get there.

Rasul could have been a hell of a safety

Sounds stupid but with the new secondary coach letting these CBs press, I'm not counting out Rasul.

Sidney sucking helps his cause.

But he also may be our best press CB (after Slay).

Remember he man handled Julio Jones for a whole game last year (till the last play...)

That's been a common opinion around here for a while.

What a lousy Philly sports day yesterday:

Eagles- Sanders out indefinitely

Flyers- couldn't close

Sixers- about to be swept and look uncompetitive doing it

Phillies lose to worst team in baseball

Unfortunately, you are likely to hear more "Wentz was off in red zone” and similar stories, while other stories extol the brilliance of Hurts.

Hedging against your franchise QB in his prime.  Never has worked, never will work, a clinicaly insane position to take.  A total failure to understand how successful teams win consistently, a ridiculous misuse of resources, and a decision that will have profound impacts on the team until the franchise QB moves on to a new home.

The reports on Sidney Jones sure aren't encouraging.  The thing with Rasul is he hasn't played IMO his natural position or had a coach play him using his best abilities to his advantage.  Douglas can be a contributor if he is coached and put in position to let him play natural instead of trying to be something he isn't.

Sidney Jones is in year 4, healthy and getting dusted by 4th stringers.  It's a shame we have no preseason for him to get action.  It's going to be all or nothing with him.  He might be the better trade chip in the long run.

Agreed it was a crappy day in sports however the top 2 are nothing to fret over.

Eagles- just being careful with any injury.  He will be fine by the opener.  Gives the rest of the running backs more of a chance to battle it out and show what they have.

Flyers- I'm confident this just lit an extra fire under their butts and they dominate Friday.

Sixers- Did you have any expectations?  This is the best thing to happen to them.  No more fools gold.  Time to get rid of Brett Brown and reimagine what they want Embid/Simmons to be.

Phillies- Like the Sixers, my expectations are pretty low for them.  A loss like that just makes me say yup, here we go again.

Agreed.

With that pick they could have gotten themselves a solid 6th or 7th rounder
