WRs should beat CBs in 1 on 1s.
DL should beat OL in 1 on 1s.

Both happened, as expected. Not a big deal.

Tra Thomas seems to disagree.

Yeah, I wouldn't trust my plant knowledge to know if what I was eating was the right kind of thing or the kind that would kill me.

You don't want to wipe with the wrong kind of leaf either.

Are tweets embedding weird for anyone else?

Consistent theme among these notes is Avery is doing nothing. He's not beating up Mailata like Oastman is, and he also hasn't lined up in the Joker role at all. Oastman lined up there a few times today.

Seemed trading avery was an overreaction to losing ostman after schwartz has reportedly planned on using ostman in certain packages.

Now that Ostman is back whats the point of avery? Especially with Ostman playing well?

Waste of a 4th round pick.

I think Howie got a little over confident with these trade deadline deals. He hit on Ajayi, but Tate and Avery were just bad, Avery in particular. A 4th isn't rich but its still pretty valuable. I don't really see what warranted trading a 4th for Avery in the heat of the moment. In hindsight it's even worse.

Given that he dislikes Stoutland, I put very little in what Tra Thomas says about our OL.

Jalen Hurts is a good egg

I agree. I dont think avery is a terrible prospect but this was a guy that was losing snaps in cleveland of all places and howie chucks a 4th at them???

Seems a waste, id rather they had the 4th😒

If Brady is even at 80%, The Bucs could be the team to beat out of the NFC this year....

I think that’s unfair. He’s been very complimentary of our OL over the years.

He isn't

It’s early of course, but Justin Jefferson has been running with the 2s in 12 personnel and joins the starters (Thielen and Olabisi Johnson) as the slot. The Vikings love 12 as much as we do.

He might not even need to be that.  He's never had this much talent around him in his entire career.  We'll see how that translates onto the field but on paper, their offense is scary

The question becomes at what percentage is Brady equal to or worse than Winston was. Tom can at least limit mistakes.

As far as Tate, the mistake wasn't in trading for him, it was in failing to sign him to a long-term deal and keeping Agholor. The money we spent on Agholor last year would have paid for him, and now he would be our starting slot wr instead of Ward.

I did see a report that Avery dropped into coverage today, which is how i think they should use him. He is never going to make it as a traditional DE in a 4-3, but he does give us a player who can drop into coverage and allow a LB to rush the passer. He could be really effective in combination with guys like Bradley and Taylor, so it may be worth keeping him around.

Right.  Brady isn't going to throw 30 picks in a season...even if he was on crutches, with one hand tied behind his back.

That offense is stacked. Who knows how many games Gronk will last. Dude is always hurt but when hes healthy he was obviously really good. Howard has been super inconsistent so well see.

The WR are obviously good but big question is RB OL and how much Brady has left. He was pretty middling last year i cant imagine hes gotten better and im not so sure Arians Cheats as much as belicheat or will encourage brady to.

Obviously a horrible situation for Rivera, who seems like a genuinely good man.

IMO, it's easy to be nice to Jason Peters, Jason Kelce, Lane Johnson, etc.

Its like the whole Chris Gocong square peg round hole conundrum again.

I liked Gocong but he was miscast in a 43 and had his best season in 34 in cleveland.

Avery is a 34 LB he doesnt belong in a 43 and using him for a few snaps a game as a situational player isnt worth a 4th round pick imo

Yeah, because they’re good. It’s OK to acknowledge that six sacks in a two minute drill is objectively bad.
