He's 259 on PE.com's roster but who knows his actual weight.  He's definitely more than 235.

Maybe 235 was his college weight.

Just seen a video on ESPN of Jalen Hurts talking to a couple young fans and sending them jerseys.  You know I hated the pick but I'm rooting for this dude to succeed.  Seems like a really good person.  Unless Carson changes his habits he'll probably end up injured at some point.  If Hurts is the #2 I'll be rooting for him to shine.

Friendly refresher for all that Sweat was at one point one of the best HS prospects in football before a truly horrific leg injury. He beat the odds, but the talent has always been there. Fingers crossed...

It’s also been 7 years, time to produce.

I don’t know where they are pulling that from but he was 253 at his pro day. Maybe just a typo

I mean I get the sentiment but it's understandable why he took so long to get back. They legitimately thought he might lose part of his leg. The fact that he's playing again is highly impressive.

This was a good article about Josh Sweat pre-draft.

https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2770048-the-josh-sweat-miracle-from-leg-snapped-in-half-to-fastest-de-in-the-draft

It would be HUGE if Barnett started tapping in to his potential, Josh Sweat evolves in to a starter or above average starter and 2 of Ostman, Avery and Miller become contributors this year.  They still need to invest in DE or even DT round 1 next year but to have these young guys take that next step would be such a huge part of the roster puzzle.

I hope Sweat fixed his get off. It used to be soooo slow which made no sense especially with how athletic he is unless he just has horrible reflexes. If he fixed that and developed more moves instead of relying on pure athleticism then he could be really good.

Eh, you see it all the time... great athlete in a poor system match. Throw in a major injury, and I don’t hold college against him. He was what — a 4th round pick? He’s already a decent rotation end, so already solid value. If he hits his upside it’s a home run type of pick.

Flyers win the series. They will have to play better against the Islanders.

The PP needs to produce.  It's in their heads now.  The Islanders can score.

Its not an itys. Just because I was right doesnt mean I should never be allowed to speak on it again. Hes still on the team. And the harsh reality of it is that he will be spoken of in those terms because its just the truth.

An itys would be me singling someone out who loved him and rubbing it in their face that he sucks and I was right. Ive never done that about him, or any other player.

  I don't think anyone would argue that he has been a disappointment.  I was extremely pissed when they drafted him with what was left on the board, and I wasn't wrong up to this point.  But if he can stay on the field, I'm slightly optimistic he can still make an impact.  Out of curiosity, who loves him here?

What scares me about this trade is that Avery has that specific joker role, and it doesn't look like they are attempting to utilize him in that role at all in camp.  Are Howie and Doug/Schwartz having enough or even any dialogue about these guys before he trades for them?

I mean, I get that we are very much in the dark right now of what they plan to do with some of these guys regarding roles and whatnot, but.... really?

I think I'm willing to give Avery a couple games this year before writing the trade off.

Fair enough.  My inner TATE is being amplified by the Sixers and the Phillies.

However......this trade felt weird when it happened, and it still does.  Schwartz has proven to be conservative with his pass rush and uncreative with blitz schemes.  I was ok with Avery playing only 33 snaps last year bc of the Harvard Law school learning curve it takes to play for the Eagles, but he's apparently not even getting reps right now at his natural position.  Maybe you can't give good practice reps to a stand-up DE/joker.

Or thanks to you, many love him more.

Barnett has been a serviceable DE.  Not every 1st round pick is going to be a pro-bowler.   I wouldn’t call him a huge "hit” atm but he’s far from a "bust”.

It’s LaCanfora, but this would be something...

Yup.

This is also why I don't want Barnett signed long-term. Let another desperate team overpay him (Edges in FA get overpaid) and take the comp pick. Use the 2021 draft to select an EDGE in top 2 rounds.

FYI: No practice today.

I am not sure Avery or Miller get a chance at a few games.  Frankly, I was wondering about Avery since the trade. It’s like Howie stepped back in time and grabbed a speedball, too short pass rush specialist for the wrong Jim’s D.

Haven't hear too much chatter about Malik Jackson around here despite a good showing in camp so far

Guy could be a very underrated aspect of that DL as both a tackle and an edge.  He is coming off back to back injured years but before that he was a damn good player.  I don't think it's hyperbole to say this DL has a realistic chance to be the best in the league in 2020

Earl Thomas is a knob.  Ravens knew that when they signed him.  Where do I line up to get a teammate who runs to the Cowboys’ locker room campaigning to get signed there?  Same line up where I can have a teammate who flips off his own sideline and coaches?

Zero respect for that guy at all.

Making room.

😂😂 Underrated insult.
Wonder what took so long here.  Did they need video evidence of him and his brother tag teaming the same chick in that super creepy story?
