I truly truly don't understand the Cowboys win the East hype, and I don't think I'm being biased.  Just look at them vs the Eagles just on paper.

Cowboys: They went 8-8 last year despite having the 4th best injury luck in the NFL according to Football Outsider's.  I'd argue their only long-term injury for a star player was Vander Esch.  They have a new head coach with a pretty checkered history in an offseason where team contact has been limited. On paper they had a good draft but again rookies have had even less time to prepare this offseason than usual.

In free agency their notable signings were Gerald McCoy (who was released), Dontari Poe (over the hill), HaHa Clinton-Dix (meh pretty good), Andy Dalton (good backup QB), Aldon Smith (a 5 year retired head case), and Everson Griffen (inconsistent but potentially very good player).

They lost an elite Center in Travis Frederick, and elite corner in Byron Jones, a very good DE in Robert Quinn, and a mediocre slot WR in Randall Cobb.

Eagles: They went 9-7 with with 21st worst injury luck last year, including losing significant starters in DeSean Jackson, Alshon Jeffery, Malik Jackson, not to mention several other shorter injuries and rotational guys. They have HC/DC continuity but had some shuffling of other staff.  Their draft on paper looks more developmental in general.

In free agency/trades they notably got a very good DT in Javon Hargrave, a stud CB in Slay, and a mediocre safety in Will Parks, and a very good nickel CB in Robey Coleman.

They lost a mediocre swing tackle in Vaitai, an OK backup RB in Howard, stone-hands Agholor, a disappointing CB in Darby, and a very good locker room leader but declining skills box safety in Jenkins.

One team was marginally better last year, has more continuity in their locker room and among their coaching staff in a year where that is even more important than usual, will have more significant returning players from injury, and clearly gained more talent than they lost during the free agency period.

The only argument I see is they had a better draft and McCarthy will make them better which is flimsy at best.

They are 0-0 and everyone is doing the routine "this is their year!” shtick. They also lost Maliek Collins who I think is an underrated loss for them. If they come out slow the cockroaches will crawl back into hiding.

Overall they are a good team with some talent, but not great. I see them as neck to neck with the Eagles. Either could win the division and it wouldn’t surprise me.

Why don’t you take the massive stick out of your arse and stop telling people to "act their age?”  It’s a message board.  Have some fun with it.  No need to suck the fun out of every single thing that’s posted.

couple days ago he told the blog people in it are downright mean. now this nonsense today where he is actually insulted by shocker's shtick. Hes trying to make the blog like some snowflake safe space.

Ive personally never seen shocker insult a single person or even really debate anything at all. Even in the posts where he breaks character to talk seriously about something. Never been disrespectful that I can recall.

Some people find the shtick entertaining at times. Others dont. But the last thing he is doing is hurting any feelings. There is no reason that stuff should have carried on so long. Kolbfan has been insufferable lately with his snowflake tendencies. And today it distracted from training camp news. At least in the offseason there was nothing else to do but argue. Not now. It was time to read Manu's posts and Caulkfan was distracting like a baby crying in church.

The Cowpies did the same thing to Demarco Murray. We know how long he lasted.

Right but he still lasted a few years after his monster year.  He signed with Philly after his career year.  He didn't fit and Chip misused him.  Went to Tennessee and still did very well.  If Murray had stayed in Dallas I'm sure he would have had another couple great years.

Point is Zeke is not done.  He can still carry a heavy load for 2-3 more years.  Whether they ask him to do that is the question.

Maybe it’s just me but he looks less special every year since his rookie year. Not saying he isn’t good because he’s still a very good RB.

I honestly don’t know what Dallas is doing on offense. They paid their RB big money just to throw a ton of assets at WR. They should just pick what they want their O to be and build around that.

Yeah I'm convinced that they only took Lamb so the Eagles couldnt.  They really dont need him.

Unless Dallas ends up being the greatest show on turf, I cant see Zeke, Cooper, Gallup and Lamb all having monster years.

I mean I don’t blame Jimmy Butler. If some team was going to offer me $38 million at 34 years old To play basketball and I’m very likely on the decline I’m definitely taking that. There’s no way any team in the NBA at 34 is paying Jimmy Butler $38 million. He was never going to leave $38 million on the table if offered for that reason. The sixers didn’t want to pay him and be in an astronomical luxury tax 5 years from now on a declining player who’s a handful off the court.

Last year felt like his worst year since coming into the league. He just didn’t look the same as he did his first couple years. Some of that I think he came in out of shape with the contract issue and some of that I don’t think Dallas‘s line is nearly as good as it was when he got to league (he didn’t play 6 games in 2017 so technically his worse but missed over a quarter of the games).

I actually think it makes sense for them to go after lamb when you look at how Amari Cooper contract is laid out. After the 2021 season the Cowboys can trade (or release if they wanted too) Amari Cooper and save 16 million against the cap. They likely still get solid compensation for him as he’d be just 28 years old. And they’d have lamb if he pans out to step into his role. And if lamb doesn’t you still have cooper.

I also wonder if he would have stayed if some idiot didnt insult him with the "Can you control him?" question the asked about re-signing him. According to Butler, thats when he decided he wanted out.

Stupid troll tricks are still stupid. Kind of stuff that brings to mind 15 year olds with pimples in front a computer laughing hysterically at their own adolescent crap.

And there's a difference between being a snowflake and being an adult and expecting a certain level of civility and manners.

If you want to "MAGA", then develop some manners. Manners are the lubricant of civilized society

I'm sick of the PC police, but I have just as much disdain for the "freedom means I can transgress at other peoples' expense" crowd, whether it's schmucks who refuse to wear a mask when they can't social distance or those who think freedom of speech frees them from the dictates of human decency.

Yup. There's another troll who visits from time to time who derails things much worse than Shocker.

Definitely didn’t help. I think the not giving him the 5th year max is when he was like I’m done and everything else just kind of confirmed it.

Brand finished the hatchet job that BC started, trying to win now the two have ensured the Sixers will win never.

When you have Embiid and SImmons, you don't need another Superstar, you need a deep athletic team to surround them.

Instead, bad decisions and a little bad luck (Fultz was a failure to do homework on his shooting motion, you don't draft "projects" that high, Z Smith was bad luck) has given them a team with no athletes outside of those two, Thybelle and Milton are solid bench pieces, but Horford, Harris and Richardson are limited players being grossly overpaid, Korkmaz has been exposed as too slow, and guys like Burks, Robinson, etc. are useful JAGs but only at the end of the bench.

The collapse started when Hinkie was forced to draft Okeafor, then between BC and Brand, all the assets he accumulated were depleted and the cap room dissipated.

Yeah that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough where are the Sixers ownership meddled in that okafor draft. The rumor out there was Hinkie I wanted to draft Porzingis but Sixers ownership told him no as Porzingis said he wasn’t gonna come over to play for the Sixers and they would have nothing to show for that year of tanking. Meanwhile he would eventually come as soon as the Sixers began playing well. He had the same agent as either embiid or Simmons but I still think he would’ve came over and wanted to play with a team where he would’ve been a dynamic fit as a stretch four.

Also doesn’t help the 76ers for some reason Kept believing we have to get a back up center that’s nearly as good as embiid because of embiid can’t play or gets hurt we’re not gonna win. You were never going to win anything if embiid gets hurt. Same thing if Ben Simmons got hurt you weren’t gonna win anything. so even if you got a good center he’s not going to be embiid so you wasted a pick on a player who didn’t fit in todays modern nba cause you had this theory and Didn’t want to waste a year of tanking meanwhile you were still full on tank job anyway.

they would’ve been better off using the money last off season To sign kanter as a backup center and bogdonavic who went to Utah then the money to sign horford.

They also have Gallup to deal with. One way or another they are only going to have those 3 for two years max. They should have traded Zeke and took care of Dak. I hope he Kurt Cousins them.

I'm officially concerned about Dillard. More so mentally than anything.

Yeah I tend to agree. I think one of the three is going to be gone by 2022. Obviously lamb if he pans out I think it’s still gonna be there. If lamb is as good as they think or people thought when he came out then I could see them trading Amari Cooper to try to get some draft compensation back to build up the rest of the roster. I think Gallup you’re not going to get nearly as much as you would for Amari Cooper at 28 years old even with his contract. I also wouldn’t be surprised at some point if Cooper rubs them enough the wrong way (like his no show week 16) that they just want to get rid of him

I firmly been of the belief dak and his agent are playing this out exactly the way Kirk cousins did. Dallas keeps saying what we offered him $100 million guaranteed. If he goes two years on the franchise tag (likely next year as well as Dallas would have to go dalton or draft someone and i don’t think they want to go that way yet) he is going to make around 70 million guaranteed. So why wouldn’t he just do that for two years Then hit free agency where some dumb team is going to overpay him and give him at least $80 million guaranteed. At that point you’re basically at $150 million guaranteed for the same amount years as Dallas is offering him in their current rumored contract and getting only 100 million. Now he could not get franchise next year but I’m guessing if he doesn’t and he puts up stats this year with the offense of weapons he has he’s likely going to get $100 million guaranteed anyways and probably even more cause the free-agent market and teams needing QB who feel they are in win now mode or GMs/coaches trying to save their jobs

Guessing he’s referring to this

Luka is a bad man!!!

Soon as Lebron retires this dude will be the face of the NBA.

I’m at the point where I want to see him at LT in Week 1 vs WAS so I can judge for myself.  I’ve seen plenty of stuff aimed at him by the Philly media scum who seem to have an agenda wishing him to fail.  Putting out BS stories about Trent Williams coming over, etc.

Maybe the guy won’t be any good, we’ll see.  There’s sufficient investment there that he deserves the chance to either play well or play poorly.  Believe me, if he performs anything close to as bad as Agholor did in Year 1 I’ll be right there in line wanting him replaced, but at this point I believe he can play LT

He told him he doesnt want to play football anymore.  He wants to be a fireman.
