How can there be such a discrepancy?

Machine error, botched/contaminated solution, etc. It happens with PCR tests from time to time, but if you're doing tests in large enough volume it's usually pretty easy to detect and fix/redo the tests (like in this case). Most likely it'll happen again but will be caught just as quick.

My guess is the lab is being pushed  to get these results out.  If they can't meet their timeline they just call it a positive test knowing the player can be retested. Since the player is isolated until they get a negative test they have the time to do it right.

Let me get this straight, I predicted a crap team getting beat in 5 and it was actually 4. Thats the complete opposite of a troll.

A troll would say the 76ers are the best thing ever, brown's the best coach ever, they're going to win it all and they should keep everyone going  into next year.

But, hey keep trusting that process(thats a troll move)

Tech a troll would just say

" Your stupid", " Your a troll" Something off topic, that has no value to start a internet fight for their own pleasure. So even what you gave an example of would not be a troll :)

I just block them cause there content is pretty much worthless. Few and far between so no use in wasting time reading it.

Troll say all kind of things to get reactions. For instance "Carson Wentz is not even a top 15 quarterback".

But thats outlandish, not even coming close to fact what some will call a "hot take"

Saying the process is a bust and they'd get beat in 5 is dead on lol.

I'm not saying you trolled. I'm giving a definition.

Sixers talk is worse than politics talk.

Spend the 40 bucks and get a firestick.

I've bought 2 firesticks...but recently have been converting to Roku...it's better, imo.

Not that it will help with whatever "illegal" way you can get NFL games on firesticks....

The "Process" worked fine, the owner is an idiot (proof that making money in finance is less about intelligence than luck and access to capital).

Hinkie took the long view, he was forced to pick Okeafor, he then got pushed out, Harris went to management by committee and they ended up with a mutated camel, after wasting all the assets Hinkie had accumulated.

sounds like a camp body.

Pretty much. He was with us for a very short 2 games in 2018 so the Eagles just have expereince with him. Even if he is depth it will be a very short period.

Question for you guys with deeper BBall knowledge.

Every move Sam Hinkie did was to put the worst product on the court to lose games. He traded away talent, he gathered picks, he hired Brett Brown.

Did it not occur to anyone years ago(when they lost in 5 to Boston in 2017, and he was embarrassed by a 40 year old Brad Stevens that MAYBE, just maybe Brett Brown was part of the negative side of the positive(i.e. put there to insure they lost a lot of games)

No, you misunderstand the process.

It wasn't about losing, it was about accumulating assets to maximize optionality. That is, Hinkie got good value out of most of his trades, dumped a lot of players who had limited futures for draft picks, and clearing out cap room (the opposite of what Brand did). The NBA draft is probably the toughest, maybe worse than baseball, because of all the kids coming out at 19 with little real film and so young it's hard to get a read on character. So you want as many lottery tickets as possible, and the flexibility to move on from the inevitable mistakes.

Brown was a very good teaching coach, he turned someone like Covington into a legitimate NBA starter, developed McConnell into a solid backup, etc.

Only issue with your plan is I think embiid is going to get impatient and not want to waste more prime years of his career without being a serious title contender. He’s going to ask for a trade. He only has three years left on his contract if you sit and wait two years that means you’re heading into the last year of his contract with him potentially leaving if they’re not better off than they have been doing that build up and losing a lot of value if you try trading him with just 1 year left on his deal.

Then you trade him, Simmonds is the key player, not Embiid.

Embiid will put up fancy stats, but it's hard to build a team around him, while he's improved, he's not a great passer, forces a lot of shots, and his durability is in question.

But you'll never get value close to his upside.

Teaching coaches are not Head Coaches, they are Asst Coaches. I thought he should have been let go 2 years ago. Great guy, as you said a good teacher but not a good HC for scheme, game planning and adjustments on the fly. HCs also do a good job in holding his player accountable, getting the best out of them. he failed to do that as well. He was a good stepping stone for the next chapter. But it is time for the next chapter.

Makes me wonder how many other false positives are out there but because we're not multi billion dollar companies they go unnoticed/no one cares.

Eh not really. This isn't a typical false positive related to shortcomings in the test itself (which exist I'm sure). It's a lab failure which unfortunately happens. For example last year we had a similar issue with positive gonorrhea tests from a lab that was also picked up quickly. Billion dollar industry or not any lab will have a protocol for identifying and intervening on a broken machine/contaminated reagent etc. Frustrating but unfortunately part of the game with PCR machines.

Oh boy.  Does that mean Hargrave is worse than expected?

Let's hope not but who knows with this medical staff.  They are pretty light at defensive tackle.  They never replaced Bruce Hector and he was a bottom roster/PS guy that could eat up snaps and give starters breaks.

Right now you have Fletcher and Malik both 30ish.  Cox already gets his veteran rest days and Malik is coming off a major foot injury.  So that leaves Anthony Rush, Hassan Ridgeway and Raequan Williams left for practice.

Hopefully Hargrave doesn't get the DJack, Mack Hollins diagnosis and is back by week 1.

Wonder if he still has those same glowing words for winning organizations.

I 100 percent agree with the last part. And the sixers don’t have a great history of trading all stars and getting value in return. And i also agree with your other post about ownership is a clown show and it’s a large reason why the sixers are where they are. I made the same argument about drafting okafor was on ownership not wanting a year of tanking with nothing to show and they made bad hires after bad hires. Now throwing people under the bus to save their own a**. Last off-season Woj reported the sixers offered butler a 5 year max coming from inside the organization. Today yahoo reported the Sixers said they were not going to give Butler a 5th year max if he talked to other teams and he did so they never offered it to him which is what i was told by a coach connected to a coach on the sixers. So they lied to Woj and the fans

HE and i discussed the same thing last night. Hard to build your team around a center now in the nba. Even the nuggets are seeing issues in their series with the jazz and Davis it took playing with Lebron to get the most out of him.  Problem is any trade i doubt teams are giving you his value back due to his durability and being a center in a guard/wing league.

I wonder if he means time is running out with 3 weeks until the opener or if that's a jab like time is running out on Sidney.

On Jones or Schwartz? His time is creeping in as well. Last year of contract. lol

That's not good for Jones making the roster.  I mean Douglas is out there competing.

It’s a jab at Sidney. The question asked was directed at him.
